He i kept on looking on the forum but i couldnt find a topic about mage-ranger hybrids, i wanted to try it so i was looking for good builds. or is it a bad idea? is anyone a mage-ranger hybrid? Im looking for builds for it. Thanks

I played one for a while and it was fun. Basically, I slotted Left mouse with shadow lighnting and fired shots in between. Please note, though, that this causes you to move closer in to the target and potentially chase it. Here's a link to the post in which we discussed it:

yeah i switch out spells & protection depending on mobs to deal most damage before they get to me if I cant I hit lightening, & gas, & pull awway to pump more arrows into them.

I know this is also an old topic but I wanted to revisist for you guys now that I'm using Aerator as a mage/ranger hybrid.

He's a cryocidic sage or druid depending on my amount of ice skills vs. poison skills, but he is working quite efficiently and effectively - to be honest moreso than I thought he would and more so than just a plain poison ranger.

I'vew been building 2 int, 2 end and 1 agi since lvl 1l so the build has techincally been the same, but I recently got ice mage skills and have swapped different combos of poison/ice spells in and out while running and resetting the same dungeon while watching pots/dmg/speed, etc. My typical jaunt goes like this now....

Find mob, Buff both pois and Ice dmg, throw MB, fire bad mutha with nox shot into crowd. If any split, use ice shards as they close to cause max dmg with no lost shots, then toss GB when in range. Monster bait hardly ever gets killed, and I am hardly ever getting hit in melee; and if I do its minimal with no need to worry because of endurance and bonesplint gear.

I'm diggin' it! Its more fun, takes a little more creativity, and is doing a couple different kinds of "atypical" types of dmg together. Ill get PP and ChillBill when I can and see if it helps/hinders any.
