I have only been playing DR for a few days now and there are few questions I would like to ask about items.

1. For the higher quality items, rainbows for example, is the "membership required" restriction random or does it apply to only certain items.

For example, does sword X of the graceful pig always have a membership requirement while boots Y of the talkative goldfish never have the membership requirement. Or is it simply a 25% chance that any given item does not have the restriction when it drops.

2. I read somewhere that non-members cannot use any items obtained via king coins. Is this true? I ask because I don't want to use my king coins testing it.

3. I was running an instance yesterday, algor terror-dome (something like that), and I ran into an NPC named Gypsy Sally. However, she did not sell any rainbows. Is this the rainbow Sally I hear so much about, but I was simply too low of a level for her to be selling them? (I'm level 16). I also found purple Sam for the first time on the next level of the same dungeon which was cool.

4. Are the spawns for RB Sally and Purple Sam random? Can they spawn in any instance?

This is totally random, and no item will be fully member-only. Yellows have a 25% chance of being member-only, Purples and rainbows have a 75% of being member-only.

You probbably read this in a not up-to-date guide. At the moment you can get purple and yellow items from the Token Masters in town, which have the same % of being member-only as stated above.

Yep, that is the very same sally. Sally has a chance to spawn selling purple and some yellow items, and sell only rainbows. Mind that the rainbows are really expensive, and Rainbow Sally is more rare then regular Sally. Sally appears in level 3 and 5 dungeons.

Sam appears in level 4 and 7 dungeons. Sam can sell purples for kings coins in specific categories. But he can also (extremely rare) sell mythics for kings coins, also, this is extremely expensive.

4. Are the spawns for RB Sally and Purple Sam random? Can they spawn in any instance?

Yep, they are random. Sally appears in level 3 and 5 dungeons, Sam in level 4 and 7 dungeons. They spawn randomly in that levels in any dungeon except Dew Valley Forest and Algernon
