I am going to have to re-format my PC sometime in the very very near future [something is going wonky but virus checkers are fine and hardware is working, just Windows is being pain]. Are there any files I can backup for DR in order to.. alleviate.. the headache of downloading all the new patches? I know that there are .ncpatch files saved now and then - but I don't know how to go about making sure the game finds them and applies them - anyone have any experience w/ anything similar?

I was going to go through this to save myself some headache when I had to format due to a nasty virus a month or so back. I asked around, like you kind of, in game for the best suggestion/where the files all were, but was told to just redownload the entire thing to make sure that I got all the correct files/overwrites/etc. to make sure the game worked properly.

To re-download the current build game and client only took me about 45 mins (I have 3.0 mb connection on an old puter...) and everything has worked perfect. So rather than go through an hour of "trouble" saving and backing up files to save yourself some time and frustration, I would just re-install everything in less the time/hassle. All your in-game data and everything is kept on the DR servers anyway, so there is no pertinent info on your computer that would need to be reinstalled or updated.

Hope this gives you an idea. Someone else will have to still explain saving ther files/backing up though, because I have no good answer for that if you still want to do that. Good luck.

Thanks Teclis - it seems that no matter what you have to install at least one PlayNC Launcher based game [couldn't find a download for just the launcher] so the only option was to reinstall DR [though I saved some patching time by backing up the folder and copying the files over the new install]; If there was a standalone PlayNC launcher then DR could be backed up by just copying the folder - you can manually point the launcher to a new location, or run the executable to make the launcher recognize it [I did this with the PTR].
