20 Questions - DR version
#48658 - 02/19/08 03:01 PM

Okay, everyone knows how to play 20 questions right? Only difference here on the forum is that there can be twenty questions or guesses TOTAL from all the different posters in the thread. Whomever gets the right answer first, picks the next "answer." Only "rule" is that it has to be something from DR in game. If the answer isn't guessed by 20 responses, then the person who thought of the "answer" posts it, and then nominates someone who posted a response to think of the next "answer". Don't forget your "answer" people, lol! Game on!

Okay....I've got something in mind.

Nope

(It appears Im going to have to answer each response a little differently, maybe just a No with more ....'s after it - bc the forum said I already posted the response "No" already in this thread. SO, we have a forum engine smart enough to know that I already posted a response of the same thing, but it can't give good search results?! Wth!? )

Yes, it is a current monster. (I can't run the PTS on this puter cuz I'm almost out of Harddrive space! lol)

This may be harder than I thought come to think of it, so here's the final hint you guys should need to nab this one:

It's encountered as part of a quest. That narrows it down as far as I dare, lol.

(Had to change the question slightly, damn forum would NOT let me post the words "is it in a dungeon?" because it says the Post Already Exists. My previous one I guess.)

You could do it with 2 question marks or an extra space between words you know.

Can it contain something?

Quote:

Monsters are NOT "NPC"'s ; as NPC is "NON PLAYER CHARACTER"

An NPC never has been and never will commonly referred to when talking about a typical "monster", in any rpg, tabletop or otherwise, as by definition in ANY rpg or other game I have EVER played. A monster and an "NPC" are characteristically different.

From wiktionary:

Noun
non-player character (NPC)

A character in a role-playing game or computer game whose actions are not controlled by the player.
(note the use of the descriptor: character)

From wikipedia:

[edit] Computer and video games
The term Non-player character is also used in console and computer role-playing games to describe entities not under the direct control of players. Nearly always the connotation is that an NPC is allied with, or at least neutral toward, the player, rather than being an enemy.

NPC behavior in computer games is usually scripted and automatic (see artificial intelligence), triggered by certain actions or dialogue with the player character(s). In certain multi-player games, (Neverwinter Nights and Vampire: the Masquerade series, for example), a player that acts as the GM can "possess" both player and non-player characters, controlling their actions in order to further the storyline. More complex games, such as the aforementioned Neverwinter Nights, allow the player to customize the NPCs' behavior by modifying their default scripts or creating entirely new ones.

In some online games, such as MMORPGs, NPCs may be entirely unscripted, and are essentially regular character avatars controlled by employees of the game company. These "non-players" are often distinguished from player characters by avatar appearance or other visual designation, and often serve as in-game support for new players. In other cases, these "live" NPCs are virtual actors, playing regular characters which drive a continuing storyline (as in Myst Online: Uru Live).

ANYWAYS...

Nonetheless - my answer was very very clear. And to JF, I said in my post you may guess again since you may have answered different if you already had an aswer before you asked your question. So your ? didn't count and you may ask again freely.

SO TO MOVE ON: It IS a monster (NOT an NPC).

Evidence:
When you first walk into a dungeon and you got that 1 min of invisiblitly, don't move and get your mouse onto a monster. It will say the monster's name and (NPC).

HAHA proved you wrong.

You are missing the Heart of the problem Weed durring that 5 seconds when you are Invisible the monster is an npc because he is neutral toward you at that time. When you move he chancges from NPC to monster. This is when his Mob or Monster metaility sets in and will now agro.

No it is not part of a quest
6 down 14 to go.

Obelisk isn't an npc.

Ok so its not an npc or monster, its not a skill or gear, its in a dungeon but it isn't in a dungeon. Its not directly related to pvp, you can use it and its not an obelisk...
