So I was having a nice day, killing and looting, when over and over(yes the killing and looting also) I was being surprized by 2 dudes from chests, happened like 4-time that day.
Was there a special going on? or is that common?

Also, came accross bonus time? is that rare? what triggers that?

Just wondering, now that i'm lvl-30 something, thought I should come out of the dungeon once in a while, ha.

The double guards from the chest has happened to me a couple of times. There is a "thing" going around recently from some players that if you multiple click on chests you sometimes receive double the loot out of them - which would also, I'd assume, make two guardians come out of a relic chest if that was the case. I don't multiple click, so I can't vouch for it, but I can vouch that I've had two guardians from one chests before.

And about the "bonus stage"... Since you're at level 30 and were just talking about the trojan barrel in that other post (which is in widowers) I must think that you're talking about the bonus stage gnome. He runs around and looks like Abel Tukast the mage trainer in Townston. When you kill him, a portal opens which takes you to a grassy little stage that has two other gnomes running around. This bonus stage is JUST like the in between bonus stage that was in Golden Axe the arcade game. As you attack the gnomes, they drop either hpots or mpots - one gnome for each. They disappear in 30 seconds or something. I love that bonus stage, lol.

I wish i was quicker and had time to read the name of those NPC's at the time but I'm usally trying not to die, lol. But you're spot on T w/ where the barrel was and bonus gnome(that's it, ha). btw, they run fast too, so slow pokes get right on em or you'll get nothing but out of breath, lol.
I was a little put off by it at 1st cause they were unarmed kids, so i didn't really try to kill em. But then saw I had not choice by cursor. I guess that might show my age, hm.

The double guards out of the relic chests is a known bug. It occurs occasionally although I am not sure what causes it to happen. I would say the people claiming if they double click on chest to get it to occur are full of it or coincidence.

A bunch of ppl playing a couple of weeks ago said that they had started multi-clicking chests to get more loot out of them on occasion. I'm not sure where it started/which world, etc. but Ripper seemed to know something about it in a post response a few weeks back also. It may of course be just kids talking...

(I tried it for myself a bunch of times to check its veracity, but to no avail... )

I've got it where i can pull the double guards about 75% of the time now with the triple click for double loot bug:)

I am quite sure the multiple-click thing is not true, although I may very, very well be wrong. I don't multi-click, and yet I get double guardians quite frequently: about 25 - 40% of the time. And yes, I seem to remember a mod saying it is a bug.

I think there are a couple of issues and/or factors regarding this topic:

I just checked with Mark. He indicated that currently, this is a bug and they are aware of it. Well, perhaps I should clarify. The multiple-big-guy spawn is a bug. :-P I have no idea when they'll be able to fix it, but I wanted to confirm for you that we are aware of it. :-P

I always assumed the double-loot/double guardian exploit was a myth. Since nobody is able to do it 100% of the time that I've ever heard of, anyway), I chalked it up as an urban legend where a player's attempts to get double loot coincided with the random chance for a chest to drop multiple items. I'm still not convinced it exists, although I've heard players say they get double guardians on a very regular basis (which translates to 4 relics dropped/chest), something I've never seen on any character I've played. This lends credence to the possibility that the exploit exists.

I learned about the triple click bug a few weeks ago and have been studying it since. I have found it to be a reproduceable bug. By triple clicking a regular chest when opening it, you have a chance of getting double the number of items you would usually get. Without triple clicking the same chest, you would never get double the items.

When triple clicking the relic chests, you have a chance of getting double the fun (2 guardians and their minions). Without triple clicking the relic chests, you have no chance of this happening.

I only have data on a few hundred chests so it's not statistically valid, but empirically (from ~3 months of playing without triple clicking) it appears to be a reproduceable bug for me.

So, since the producers have known about this since at least November and not "fixed" it, you might as well triple click every chest and get double the bling.

Well, I didn't know what you guys were talking about since it never happened to me. Then the next time I played after reading this thread, low and behold two guys. Maybe knowing about it creates it?
