Is my dual-wield good?
#46366 - 02/04/08 08:38 PM

Or should I just stick to my old lvl 21 2h staff?

.. Depends what you like. Both do exactly the same or nearly exactly the same damage, considering you take the 20% speed with dual wield with that.

=== Edit ===

Posted in Mage section, sorry. Dont looka t the 20% with dual wield, doesnt count for mages. And except for pvp, shields arent so good, expecially not at low levels. At level 60+ you could start to compare but below that dual wield is far way better.

I'm confused, you have mostly shadow attacks but your gear gives quite the opposite bonuses. Dunno if you just haven't found the right type or maybe you have some alternate plan.

Shadow magic homes in so less aiming is need to kill.

Ummmm ... what?

AOE spells need no aiming.
Everything else requires it.

I can't even imagine something needing "less" aiming.
What exactly ARE you smoking?

You have bonuses for fire and ice - why not use Fire Bolt and Ice Shards to take advantage of those? The only skill you have that fits is Ring Of Fire, which is great but is not fast enough to be ready. The other alternative is to get gear with shadow bonuses.

Also, since the weapons you carry are not your main attacking tools, why not get a nice 2-hander with heavy INT like a Shaman Staff or something?

Shadow Bolt doesnt need pinpoint aiming like Fire Bolt / Ice Bolt / whatever... It locks onto and homes in on a target unlike other ___ Bolt spells

AFTER you target something, yes it does lock on, that is why it's my favorite. However, if you have it on one of the 1-8 spaces and hit it it gives you the crosshairs and you have to target something. I use it on right mouse and just hold it down after targeting.

That's where I have shadow bolt, on right mouse.

Technically speaking, you don't need to target anything to have Shadow Bolt lock on. Just click and it will auto home in on the nearest target, even if you are not targetting it.

It seems to me that even if you do target something, the bolts still serve away from your target to attempt to hit the nearest enemy. I may be wrong, since I usually place my Shadow Bolt on Right Click instead of Left.
