Premeire Guide to Becoming Famous on the Internet!

Tip 1: All other tips stem from this key tip: Post Count is crucial! NOTHING shows off your wisdom and power like a nice chunky post count. The higher the number the more impressive, which leads into tip #2... Tip 2: Make threads about ANY random thought that pops into your head. Isnt that what these forums are for? People will respond and you will be regarded as an innovative and active forum member. Tip 3: Post a reply in EVERY thread you can, several times if necessary! Even making a statement about something not at all close to the topic is perfectly ok, and encouraged. Tip 4: Replying to your own comment if no one has said anything in that thread for over a day is suggested. Keep it alive and boost your post count. Also reviving extraneous old threads to post your 2 cents displays your authority and experience. Tip 5: Having full fledged conversations irrelevant to the topic within a thread is not only constructive but beneficial to all forum members. Who needs in-game tells, specific off-topic threads or PMs! Tip 6: Patrol the "Suggestions" forum constantly!! Be ready to pounce on someones suggestion. Search the archives and throw it in their face when you link that old related thread in your post. Ooh this one just feels good! Tip 7: Quote, quote, quote & quote some more. People really feel involved and admired when you quote them and make a direct comment to that quote. You seem more down to earth and connected with your low post count companions. Quoting a quote...this is almost always a must, I'm not impressed unless I see 7 or more quotes within each other. Tip 8: When a rumor or tough question is being asked, there is one simple rule to follow. Put in your opinion or statement and attach a developers name to it claiming they told you. No one will ever know if you were wrong and if you are called out, just blame it on their indecisiveness. What matters is appearing to be "in-the-know" at the time of your post. I would include more tips but I'll save them for new posts in this thread to boost my post count. Happy Birthday! Yeah, id try to come up with something witty but the avatar mesmerizes me. It always makes me think of last year's Mother's Day. I made a card that said, "Mom, thank you for giving birth to me, I really appreciate it." Then below it i had written the link to "Treat your Mother Right by Mr. T" youtube video. It sounded better in my head while coming up with it. I do agree about the post count.. I cant deny that anymore.. sadly  But the forum mentality lacks on some points tho here: People go easily off-topic, and I hate it. Makes it very hard to find good info and next to that: No benefits are taken from it. So I suggest not to folow the tip:"Post even if it goes slightly off-topic". Next to that Double posting in a row is something I dont like either, I'd call it bumping a thread, and does not deserves a post count. Also many of these tips lead to people spamming the forums even more with useless crap. I atleast can say I earned my post count by posting things with atleast a little bit of sense, and not like:"Yes I all agree to your opinions about the suggestion" , and such being posted for every suggestion from last year January until this very second. Folks, just keep sharing information and thoughts, it makes a better community, but what absolutely not to do is spamming and posting useless things, really. You wont get a + 1 in my memory atleast. |
