DungeonRunners.exe - Application Error

X The application failed to initalize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application.

Above is what I get when I try to open DungeonRunners. The NCSoft launcer works just fine but I get that error with DR.

-Net2.0 installed
-newest build of DX9
-nVidia's 169.21 forceware drivers
-up to date chipset drivers
-XP Pro SP2.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled both the launcher and DR numerous times with the end result still being that error. I really want to play this because it reminds me of Balder's Gate(special place in my heart) and it just looks like an overall fun game, but i'm afraid at this rate i'm going to have to give up on it. Anyone have any clue as to what's going on? =(

Edit: Forgot to mention that i've poured over this whole forum and haven't really found anything that directly relates to my problem.

Where did you download the file from? There are other d/l mirrors besides ftp.dungeonrunners.com, if you got a corrupt d/l from one of the other sites try the main FTP. Or the opposite of course, try our new pals at Tentonhammer.com or at download.com

Well, isn't it that you only download the NCSoft downloader from different sites then it grabs DR for you? I don't see how that would make a difference at all. If i'm wrong then feel free to set me straight. =)

Thanks for the help, in any case, and i'm redownloading and reinstalling one more time to see if it works. Thanks!

Edit: redownloaded from TenTonHammer, reinstalled, still getting same error. I also submitted a help request to the NC help center so we'll see if they can help any.

Are you running firewall or AV software? Sometimes those have been known to corrupt downloads.

Only thing I run is NOD32 and it was turned off for this last download.

Hmm, I use NOD32 and don't have any problems, so that's probably not it. It does appear to be local to your machine, though, since it doesn't appear to be affecting anybody else. I'd recommend opening a support ticket to see if they can troubleshoot further. Go to support . If you don't have a support account, you'll need to create one first.

Yup, submited a ticket earlier so it's time to wait now. Thanks for the help guys. =)
