The only ways I can think of are kill, kill, kill those mobs and pick up whatever you can sell, as well as the gold. I'd make it to a level where there is a boss who has a pretty nice pay off and start farming. When you can attempt to do so, raise your difficulty level. It might be good to try finding a group and work at it all together. It's basically what I did as I trudged along. Yes, it may sometimes be tedious, but sometimes you simply have to do so. That's where a good group could come in, you all could chat amongst yourselves while farming.

As a side note though, although you may be partial to being a mage, there's nothing wrong with respec'ing for awhile to help in your gold making.

Good luck!

Are you kidding? Rotgut practically throws a Christmas party in his Room of Creation. At level 50, you'd probably won't be able to take him on Insane solo without wasting a ton of pots, but he drops pretty good even on Formidable difficulty. Group up and he goes down pretty fast, regardless of difficulty.

At lower levels, Snow Chief and Sissirat are pretty generous too. The drought begins at level 55 (when you've outleveled Rotgut, though you can still get cash from him) to 75 when you can finally enter Ratsputin's. That's the point in the game where I frankly struggled alot with money since spells were so expensive - 800k for level 2 blue screen of life, oy! I visited Rotgut alot at these levels, just to farm money.

It is possible to solo Rotgut at level 50 Insane very, very easily, without using many pots; even as a mage. Still, grouping will give you vastly superior loot, and therefore more cash per run.

a mage hurts in the source of money department cause mages stink at bosses. I am lvl 57 and know how bad we stink at bosses.

To be honest if you want to farm money and only money for skills then do a lesser boss on insane.

Then you mustn't be doing it very well. I can solo Rotgut at level 56 without a problem, and I don't use very many potions.

Well now, i personnaly can't solo even Sc at level 31 but i love rotgut because it's relatively easy in a group and impressive loot, but well i would rather be solo to farm exp... but well of course i wouldn't survive... since i'm more of a damage mage it's a problem.

Heh i just found a group or bunch of bait noobs( what i mean about this is, people who really don't do much)so i can run the dungeon pretty often and quickly, one round lasting around a minute.
