I prefer Shadow. Many people have the misconception that Shadow Bolt does very little damage: in fact, on average it is the most damaging bolt spell. While it has the lowest maximum damage, it has an extremely high minimum damage. Its average damage vastly outstrips Fire Bolt, and it more powerful than Ice Bolt in general. My only complain with Shadow Bolt is that sometimes, it swerves away from your intended target. The mana cost and range is also a pain... but personally, I prefer to do consistent damage than have my damage jumping wildly all over the place. |

very true, Shadow bolt is very consistent with good damage but the drawbacks for me isnt the mana cost on sometimes swerve its the range, im a kiting mage and the range just doesnt help me at all thats why I prefer fire. Also it has the highest crit. -------------------- Smoke N' Play |

But Mages have no way to increase spell crit chances, and usually, unless you are dealing with a dungeon lower than your level, you won't crit much. |

Indeed, as mages got no crit to add, their crit is 3%, the base %. |

Crackersd's PVP title is gifted pandnomic wizard (basically the usual but with divine ward and righteous stomp). |

Ehmm.. Weedhead.. why do you post under another name? This is 1. because you lost your password or 2. because you got banned. If you got banned, I need to say that making a new account isnt such a good idea. |

Here's a rhetorical question for you: why would I make it on 3/3? (What happened on this day that made me do so?) |

If it was rhetorical then you would know in general that the answer is already known by the person(s) you are asking. We do not know, and don't necessarily care, but the question is not rhetorical - thus, why don't you tell us the significance of 3/3/08. Besides the patch (and I have no idea why that would be specific to you being on the forums...again) what grand occurence has happened to bless us with your presence. |

Before you do that, better check that they believe in a vengeful deity. If they don't, send them to concentration camps and use persuasive methods *cough*torture*cough* to persuade them to convert to one. Then kill them. |

/agreed... As I am a firm believer in the premise that we are all ongoing products of our respective choices on the good and evil scale...We could cull the weak, eat the dead AND be irrespectful of what their beliefs are and still come out at the same point on the spirittual slide-rule without having to go through all of that "convert or DIE" nonsense. Unless they wanted to convert of their own volition - then it would be moot, lol. They'll taste the same either way. Now how the HELL did we get wya out..........................................................................................HERE with this topic!? We're bad guys, lol. ![]() |

Quote: Why render? Patton said it best... "...guts and use them to grease the treads of our tanks." And as for straying off topic... WH just seems to elicit a particular response, almost reflexive and pavlovian in nature. I've had him on iggy for some time now and I've been watching the responses anytime he posts. While WH-bashing/correcting appears to be much fun, I can't help but wonder if he's getting the attention he craves anyways. When you sling mud at a pig time and time again, after while you begin to realize that the pig may actually be enjoying it. It already doesn't matter what he says as most already know to take everything he posts with a proverbial 40lb bag of salt. Play on his worst fears of being ignored, never being taken seriously, brushed off and forgotten like toe-nail clippings. Just ignore the bugger and continue advising as if he wasn't there. Y'all are just playing his game. The best way to get a pig to follow you is to poke it in the nose and get it good and mad. For someone that seems to be hell bent on killing is sole remaining brain cell, he's pokin' entirely too well for my liking. ...and now I have this sudden craving for bacon. |

Im not a high level mage but Ive always relied on shadow lightning and gear builds that enhance that damage. Its not in the thousands yet but at lvl 15 what can ya expect...however it is exactly 946 max which aint bad and five targets get to wear that delicious charred scent. With a minimum of over 100 I dont see a major prob in the near future....what do you guys/gals think of the pure shadow build? Good support class? -------------------- Fight you beggars! I've been a high int shadow mage since the beginning and ive always done crazy enough damage to clear out a room b4 i took too much damage. So it's always worked 4 me. .. it was a little more challenging at beginning lvls though -------------------- In Game : Shadowkeeper, lvl 100 Genious Arch Shadow Wizard >Check out mah Character Sheet!!
