Questions on my 'build'...
#43584 - 01/09/08 01:03 PM

After looking over Timthetortoise's build and reading all the posts and answers related, I decided to put my main up for scrutiny. Keep in mind that Krulshards is my first 'toon' on Dungeon Runners, there IS a bit of a learning curve, so be easy on me.

This is my 'current' me: Krulshards

After reviewing the build, know that I've solo'd Algernon (including Sisserat)on normal difficulty, then I've gone back on the first level increasing the difficulty each time until it's set on Insane now. Not real sure why, but I still seem to walk through the mobs like they're made of paper, the difference is that now I've used 1 or 2 healing potions for each full inventory I cash in on...so...maybe 10 potions used? But it seems that the mobs still aren't very hard to kill, the Heroes and Champions are also easy IMO. Do I need to get in a group before the mobs become a much higher level? Is my 'build' progress good enough to continue with?

It looks fine. One thing you might consider is to put gym freak (a passive) into your left click spot. If you don't want to put a power there, a passive works pretty well there (it still counts and the attack ends up just being an attack only click).

For that empty slot consider gaseous blast - to soften up all those trash mobs. Or average BMI for even more hitpoints.

Currently leveling up:
Freesia - mage
Feisti - fighter
Fletching - ranger

I use the Swivel buff in my left click and have ever since Bogey went back to being a warrior after hittin lvl 100.

The only other thing I can see is maybe grabbing a couple of the Ranger Skills, Acidic Blight reduces the defense, Gaseous blast is also useful, and Average BMI would give you another boost in HP without having to spend points that could go to STR. Or even the Mage Skill Ring of Fire

Also not sure when it comes available but the Mad Melee Mastery is a must have, it gives an insane amount of extra attck rating. But the draw back is it has a negative effect on End.

Well...as of last night, I moved one of my 'passive' skills to my left mouse button and picked up gaseous blast in its place. I guess I'll move forward from here increasing s/a/e on a 2:1:2 ratio, dropping the occasional point into intel. I appreciate the input and will gladly accept anyone's further opinions on my build.

I prefer a 1-2-3 punch: Acidic Blight - Gaseous Blast - Cleave (If your a fighter) Ring of Fire if your a mage.

Unnerving shout isnt one of my top picks for anything other the boss battles.. you kill the mobs so fast it's pointless.

...alright...after playing for an hour or two with my new setup on the Hotkeys, I'm finding that I don't really like having a warrior pretending to be a mage. Are there any straight forward warriors around with advice in this area? Surely there is room for a pure warrior in the dungeons...

There is, but fodder monsters, which are easy to kill and come in big groups, can be cleared off much faster with AOEs rather than picking them off one by one.

Yes a pure fighter is a viable yet slow leveler at some times:) I ran Bogey as a pure fighter for about the 1st 40 lvls. Then gradually changed to a pure Int mage over the next 20 lvls.

That said, I would do a couple of things.

1. match your weapons.... by having both weapons doing the same type of damage you can maximize you DPS by looking for gear that gives +'s for one damage type instead of splitting it between 2 types i.e.: you have 1 weapon with Piercing damage and the other with Crushing

2. I know Soul Rend is cool and everything but, you might want to think about changing your right click to Cleave. This will help with fooder clearing because it hits multiple enemies. Maybe moce Soul Rend or add Holy Roller to a numbered button.

In closing...the more Str the better:) Maybe instead of putting points to Agi and End every lvl alternate them.
Go with 3 Str and alternate 2 Agi/End. As far as Int goes Rings and Necklaces are a great soource of it. For the longest time Bogey's modified Int was a 1 just because you can't have a 0 for some reason.

I ran into the exact same problem. My solution is to use cleave and eventually get the awesome cleavage skill. However, cleave has problems.

* While it doesn't need to be in one of your mouse click keys to work (it's a point blank AoE), you can react faster if you do and with a mouse click, you don't lose targeting. This means however you'll have to displace something like holy roller, soul rend or butcher.

* Cleave works best with a slower 2H weapon. It does a percentage of your total melee damage so a higher damage weapon is better. *sigh* I like having 2 1Hers.

* You will need to invest in some Int or have some Int gear. Using cleave can leave you pretty dry on mana quickly.

Anyways, I'm still experimenting with this too. I'll let you know how it goes.

Look below at Dadaca for a pretty much pure fighter. He doesn't get played much but can pretty wade through anything his level easily. His tubby (is BUTT at least not censoered) is just slow.
