rant about trading of RB's
#42086 - 12/21/07 09:40 PM

Ok so i like this whole RB sally thing. It makes it easy for everyone to get an rb and maybe even get an rb they can use. But here's my thing about trading the rb's that you get, whether you find em or buy em, the WHOLE point to trading is to get gear you can use, so why when I ask for mage rb's around my lvl everyone whispers me with fighter rb's 20 lvls under mine? or when i ask what someone is looking for after they post an item for trade they tell me there items worth atleast 3 rb's of mine of all diff lvls and class types? Can't we all just trade for gear we can use and when someone says I can't use those can't you be understanding and let it go instead of begging for the item like a 10yr old? When someone tells me they NEED my rb, I tell them they need food, water, and shelter, not my rb. So please if your trading please be fair and understanding if someone offers you only one rb or turns your offer down. And on a side note, the size thing does nothing for your stats, just makes you look larger or smaller, and lets be honest no one cares how big or small you are and anyone who does needs to get out more.

Some people (me) look for growth jewelry because of the stat increases it gives (I switch classes alot so +agi +int +str would be welcome). I look at the character size increase as a bonus.

that is how people use to act towards me. so i said whatever. then i started giving out rb's better than being stingy. i think in my time of playing dr i have given out atleast 300 rb's. for example most 100's give rb's including myself but then there are others who only trade. just look at it this way. give some to people and later on they will give you stuff you need in return.

The thing about the +growth items is they see someone big and think "OMG I want to be big too!" Then after 2 days of soloing or partying with other people with growth items they dont even notice it. Normally, not always, you sacrifice some stats in order to wear one. I admit, I fell victim to this too, I wore one that dropped around level 40 even though it had some stats I dont really use, I replaced it with something vastly better in 5 levels and now have it for 100 "town" gear down the road.

I understand where you are coming from on the whole issue of tells from people begging or hassling you on something you dont want at all. Happens alot if you have a growth item or very good RB. Thats why I hope when I get back home after the new year, I can work on an auction site where trading can be done 24/7 and youll be able to search items in your level range, a specific item etc.

Sounds like you need to spend more time on world 7 bipolarbear - the whole "gimme", "i need", "plz cmon" thing got to me before too long so I had to look for a place to tow my trailer. No matter what the "argument" may be about world 7, that crap doesnt last long with the ppl who usually play there. Ultimately I had to remember the ignore option is my friend too.
