A set of tips to avoid trolling in the forum
#41732 - 12/18/07 03:30 AM |
People in some cases keep arguing, even though they aren't getting anywhere. Thus causing the effect of trolling. Some of us (like me I'm sorry to say) argue by habit alone. So I came up with a set of tips to help everyone in the forum a little better, and perhaps to reduce trolling. 1. Quoting is useless - Quoting as I call it, putting someones quote and under it your reason for why you are absolutely right. > This method rarely works, and sometimes has little influence that I have seen to date. 2. Everyone thinks they are right - I'm not kidding either, when an argument begins, both parties will think they are right and they start to think their job is to convince everyone else that they should follow their ways. > This NEVER works, and only keeps the argument going forever. 3. Learn when the argument is going nowhere - If you are trying to convince others that your right, you may say "its my job to say 'x' or to do 'y'." > But in the end, your just trying to win an internet argument, and we all know the saying for 'that' In the end, if you find yourself arguing. You should stop immediately, because the argument may go nowhere forever... -------------------- Don't argue with me because I don't care! Any attempt IN arguing with me will be utterly pointless... You've been advised in a nice friendly way! Have a nice day! ![]() |

for what reason would forums be here then besides to only note problems and be able to submit, not discuss, suggestions to the devs? -------------------- "The future is in your grasp, be sure to reach for it before hands more determined and bloody than your own wrench it away." |

Lol that hits it even harder, and I agree. Forum is for arguing, discussing, sharing info and just talk about the game, yet it has to be done in a friendly way.. But that is a totally different case.. ![]() -------------------- LegendRunner - level 100 Ace something The Townstons Wiki Archive! - Boss of TT Dont Feed The Trolls!
