The new trade system
#41099 - 12/13/07 08:21 AM |
I was checking out the new trade system, and I was wondering. What if people start stacking and trading potions to "purchase" items? Wouldn't this be a slight opening for the whole gold-farmer'esq economy attack. Because we are all always going to need potions, and their info tab doesn't say (no trade), it looks to me like people could start pricing their rainbows for hundreds of potions and sell them instead of trading them for other items. -------------------- Warg it's what's for dinner! But you can only have so many potions in your inventory, which I doubt would meet the player value of rainbow items; and also the value for potions scales with your level. That means a level 100 would need to spend much more to buy a certain number of potions compared to a level 1. The point of a basic currency is to be pseudo-static in value for that region: potions aren't that. |

996 gold a pot to be exact. But I dont see it happening.. I mean.. All 100s got 10 mil+ within the first day for sure. Gold is useless for us. -------------------- LegendRunner - level 100 Ace something The Townstons Wiki Archive! - Boss of TT Dont Feed The Trolls! The worst (best?) part about trying to use pots as a form of currency is that you can't really liquidate them into useful gold. They all sell for 25. ![]() The same is somewhat true for items. If a level 100 gives a level 100 item to a level 1 and that level 1 sells it to a vendor then the item will sell as though it were level 6. This is to stop efficient currency exchange. Although, I wouldn't be too surprised if folks found a way to make it work anyway. steve |

pots are different price depending on your level 10 level 10 pots are worth less than 10 level 25 pots so noone in their right mind would ever use them as currency |

The pots have to have varying prices as there effectiveness is percentage based thefore a lvl 10 might get 500 hp back and a lvl 100 could get back 12k, so prices are fair and required to be varied. |
