Player guide for beginners & experts.

Dungeon Runners Player Guide Foreword: In the beginning of this game I was seeking a casual time killer which most 500 Meg games turn out to be for me. Upon entering the game I was faced with not one maybe two features that stuck out but a multitude and along the way I became a diehard Dungeon Runner in less then 2 days and my membership. I write this guide in homage to one of the greatest games I've came across throughout the beginning of MMORPGs: AOL Chat room Text Rpg world of Rhy'Din, igbgames.com Federation(THE ORIGINAL) Ultima Online, ShadowBane, Project Entropia, RuneScape, World of Warcraft, Drift City And a multitude of others I don't are not worthy to make my list of great games I've cycled through till finally... Dungeon Runners A few things you must know before beginning: 1. The uses for Right Click(right click your name you newbie!):
3. Make friends!!! this game is about community. If your looking for a specific item or Mythic item chances are your friends will have it. Best way to do this is use the Auto Matching system... nothing like killing loads of monsters to bring ya together. 4. Chat commands: /w (world) /g (group) /z (zone) /ignoreworld mutes the spam, type it again to turn it back on. And trade channel coming soon to a chunk #2 Theater near you! 5. Remember to right click anybody to add friends and ignore the trolls. Thats it'll help with all your basic needs and a few features that'll help you along your way in this great game. Let's get to the nitty gritty. Things you need to keep in mind throughout your play:
Tips for EVERY build since this is a non-class specific game
Now the Tormentor example is easy to see because I've done the research but when you find your own items your going to have to do your own testing now the way to go about doing that is here: 1. Identify what the items main features are. ie. Tormentor is Mana leech and critical chance hit 2. What features do those compliment the best? Mana leech and critical chance have Battle mage written all over them 3. Testing what skills compliment the features of the item. Mana shield because you can ignore endurance completely (your items are bound to have a few points for you). You can leech your health (ie mana) and never die. Low mana use skills. Improved shadow lighting and Ring of Fire not the best ideas for Battle mage but Cleave and Awesome Cleavage have minimal cost for the same effect. 4. Testing complimentary Gear. Weapons and Armor (my current set gives 3% health and 3% mana leech) with 66% extra Critical chance. 5. Testing should be at least 10 – 20 minutes (And yes 10 minutes is the time you have to tweak your stats after a respec.. use this time wisely) 6. Test with a few different type of groups. HdoL is usually best for this. Melee group, Ranged Group, Mixed Group, and Healer group. See how you fare against each and tweak from there. 7. Complimentary gear shouldn't take too long to find.. average player spend a good hour in the game in a given gameplay.... use one day out of your week to go item hunting if you cant find a decent full group in your chosen time to play. 8. Always ALWAYS remember to change your skills if its a weapon your centering around. Mana leech is great if you want a BattleMage... the leech lets suck all the health you'll ever need, but balance with decent hit percentage (dexterity) and strength (amount you'll be getting). Now, the following is an idea and as such if you have arguments, dissolve the idea with a better one or add to it.... Go for a character that has no weaknesses!!!In a game where you can be anything you want to be 100% of the time you have room to have 2 ranger skills, 4 fighter skills and 4 mage skills on your bar and be bobby bad [censored]. Of course dont take my word for it... go pure fighter or pure mage and tell me if you don't go back to somewhere in between because of Area of effect damage (Fighter) or dying to easily (Mage). This guide was created because of my other thread thats in my signature on hybrids... 3200 hits said something to me.... it told me that this game needs more mentors and guides such as this one. Its no wonder I never see 1000+ on this game when nobody helps out there community besides trading items. I'm also formally requeting NCSoft include a Master/Apprentice system in this game... we all know how to power level someone even though we gain nothing.. we gain a friend... yipee. Now is the time to pony up and actually give a dam about a true gaming community and what the should mean, include something... such as getting your apprentice to lvl 10 gives 10 King coins... lvl 20 another 10 all the way to 50. Is it too much to ask? I think not. -------------------- --- Rather respond to the ideas to reshape them or dissolve them with better ones. pLEASE? what are you like lvl 40? Try being lvl 100 for months and getting 340935983980 whispers a day asking to be powerleveled, its a priveldge when a higher is bored and wants to be nice and does it. This game is far too easy to have a noob guide. How hard is it to say grab some gear, hit an instance and lvl. There are very detailed guides on each class, which items/builds work better then the others and wheres the best place to farm. Master/aprrentice is about as good of an idea as asking John Goodman to squeeze into Calista Flockharts spandex. Oh your guide really isnt a noob guide as it spends half the time talking about a battle mage and not a noob. |

Hmm, yea I'll level a n00b to 20 for 10 kings coins, I couldn't get those by, oh, running Ratty twice? Also your chat commands are out if date: Changes Leave world chat: /leave world Leave Market chat: /leave market Join one of the above chats: /join market/world Busy is now set by typing /busy not /b and not-busy is set by typing /notbusy instead of /nb. Also to type in market you use /m Note for the n00bs: you cant link stuff in /w anymore, that's what /m 's for. ---Edit of rippers post--- You can still use /ignoreworld to leave and join world chat, but I don't think it will be supported once the new update hits so don't get used to using it. Sadly I still am. And I have seen item linking still in /world chat, but it just gives only the name of the object no link or colored text like in /market. Bug perhaps? And again I think that will be fixed in the next update. -------------------- And that is just my 2 cents and a haypenny. |
