What I want to know is what is the level range above and below a character, that other characters will be matched up to group together, I noticed earlier today a 5 level difference between me and a group mate, maybe this just seems odd to me because I play WoW and if you group with some one 5 levels higher than you if you are doing stuff that would normally give you xp then the higher level character would not typically recieve xp, and also that large of a level gap means you get very little xp over all.

There can be a total of 10 level difference within a group +/- 5 from the leader of the group. If you are using the Find Group function. Experience and dungeon level is based on the leader of the group. If you are more than 5 levels above the leader of the group you will not gain exp for the kills.

You can be any number of levels below the group if you manually choose your group but the lower level will not be effective at killing and is really only tagging along. Most likely dieing easily if they are to far below. A number of patches ago this was used to PL characters, the devs altered the way exp is given to counter this. Even if a level 1 joins a level 99 group they will only get the same exp as the other members of the group, 5/10/15 per kill depending on the type of group.

This game is very different from WOW given that it is instanced and the levels of the mobs are based on the leaders level and not a predetermine level.
