I respec'd my fighter to a ranger after coming across my first shotgun, however now I have a problem with abysmal INT - my mana is <600 and even the basic poison shot uses the whole bar before I finish one mob group. Do I really have to take points back from agi/end to put into int, or is there some other solution? My gear is primarily +ranged dmg, agi or end based, since I tend to get surrounded a lot (still got that fighter mindset, oops)

Hmm.. lets say it like this: I agree its pretty confusing using a mage attribute to boost the element of the ranger.
There are 2 types of rangers.

1. The poison ranger, using poison shot ect. I recommend to use % poison dmg, a bit +int gear (Like a ring), +poison dmg. Ect.

2. Speed ranger, actually getting balanced between good speed and good damage. They dont use poison, as all matters about the shoot speed and the damage made per shot.


Now I recommend also to avoid a combination of those 2.

I ignore all stats except for Agi - every point goes there. Equipment gives sufficient End, Int and Str.

You are right, with nothing in Int you can't cast. Well you can but not much. I use Trigger Finger Frenzy on left click, Acidic Blight on right. I keep Unnerving Shout, Retribution, Thickheadedness and Turkey Leg on the bar. So I don't cast often and my 1155 pool of mana never gets used up.

I tried casting poison stuff with a fast weapon but found that my dps was way down, so now I just shoot. Stick to a ludicrous or very fast gun, stand back and pick them off before they can get to you.

I find it not really profitable to get much mana = being a poison ranger, as its stated that poison shot doesnt stack, when that is fixed, im in my poison gear again

i mostly use poison ranger jewelry as in medusas engagement ring x2 and a mystical green glow stick amulet.
which adds a total of 18% to poison attacks. i also use demon sniper for the mana steal so i don't have to have a ton of int.

I used bookworm or couch potato and some int gear when I was still running an all agi setup. Kept me in the mana pretty good.
