I have hosted real life (sports) and in-game PvP tournaments before and they have always been a lot of fun. I would be happy to help with the tournament coordination efforts and can create the tournament brackets (random generator). We would have to set a date/time and then get a list of participants to determine if the tournament would be round-robin, single or double elimination. I can even come up with rainbow prizes, if so desired. |

Sounds good everyone who wants to enter can submit their name here in the forum on this post obviously and we'll have a due-date to when all the people who want to enter should have their names in, then we could choose a date to start and have some sort of prizes as you said for 1st 2nd and 3rd. -------------------- Smoke N' Play |

Two problems. One how you know if the kill count is true? Or a draw? Two, Many players live in different time zones ![]() |

1. It wouldn't be based on kill count just the "win" that you can visibly check before zoning in. The biggest problem I see is getting the pairings correct, because this would require voluntary player cooperation and time coordination. 2. There is no way everyone can participate that would want to, but a tournament of 30 players is more fun than no tournament and 0 players. In life, there are always reasons not to do something, but quite often just moving forward has the most positive result. I say we pick a time between Friday evening and Sunday evening and just see how many are willing to participate. If it works out we can do them monthly or whatever and change the day/time to try to accomodate as many players as possible. |

I am all for it. I think to be really well organized it would take some help from the Devs though. I do know pvp ladders are coming in the near future which will be awesome. -------------------- NPCsoft 1 JaySherman 0 |

another problem i see would be getting teams together (fairly) or just do an all out solo tournament.. maybe 2 tournaments, 1. for teams 2. for solo |

Yes it would be difficult but as jay said maybe help from the devs would make it possible and as clamm said 2 types of tournys one for groups one for solo. I appreciate the feedback guys it is really helping, and we just may be able to make this possible with some help. -------------------- Smoke N' Play |

I believe we could easily pull this off without DEVs, but their participation would make it even easier. I think a solo tournament would be far easier to manage and then there are less headaches "my partners computer locked up" or whatever. To do the pairings 2 players at a time would have to Q up ... once the pairing was made the next 2 would zone in. Rinse, repeat. The bracket could determine the order and even approximate times could be published. The type of tournament bracket would be determined by the number of entrants. If there were only 10 players you could round robin the tournament in 2 brackets of 5 then do 2 outta 3 for the championship still in under 1 hour. If more participated you could do a double-elimination or whatever. Adjustments could be made, as needed, for tournament #2,3, etc. A duo or team tournament could be added if the first one worked out. |

Well.. some time ago, I think around 2-3 weeks, I asked Stephen how it would be to be able to: 1. Right click the name and "duel", Many people got this in the head, and its a simple solution to a fairly big problem, I think. 2. The system of guildwars its recording pvp system. You can look at matches when theyre already done x times, that way you can easily check if the result is true, you can enjoy good battles, and after all you can learn quite a bit tactics, we wanted challange, right? The 2 questions I asked before were pure if its going to be good, as some scream and never make it happen. 2 Common questions that would help get this up in a good way I think. Now, when lets say there are 10 battles from 00:00 to 01:00 time (example) It means that the total time will be 70 minutes of battle, within an hour. Makes it a bit hard to organize it all right away. What about people that will watch, and post the results ect. Kind of a help crew? Because I think that once this will not only reach the forum but in-game, we can easily count on a big stack of people, why? Well, there were rainbows given out right? One last problem is when someone wins the tournament, and he gets the price but the price isnt in his level range, what to do? Would be a bit.. strange. Buuuut, I want to help, lets state that. I can do anything I think. |

Known violators will be removed from the tournament. - This is a free-for-all where all items and skills are allowed! - Tournament officials may modify the rules at any time prior to the tournament. Tournament Format (TBD based upon the number of entrants) - Round Robin up to 12 people with the finals being the best 2 out of 3 - Single Elimination for more than 12 people with the semi finals and finals being the best 2 out of 3 - The tournament bracket will be generated by Alvera and posted publicly NLT December 1st @ 12 am CST (Austin, Texas time) on the Dungeon Runners forums. - If you are more than 3 minutes late your match will be forfeited without appeal - A "disconnect" for any reason will be considered a forfeit - Leaving the battleground early will be considered a forfeit Sportsmanship - Players will conduct themselves in a mature manner and display good sportsmanship at all times. A total of 6 prizes will be awarded and player selected in the following sequence. Grand Champion, 1st Runner Up, 2nd Runner Up, Grand Champion, 1st Runner up, Grand Champion *Sample Prize List (this ONLY a sample) Cinder Body Armor WRING Circus Ring IRing DemonSniper Dungeon Assistance - 1 hour of dungeon assistance from a level 100 player How can I help? - Encourage as many players to enter the tournament - Be a tournament official and help conduct the actual tournament. Unfortunately, tournament officials will not be eligible to compete during the tournament to prevent conflicts of interest. Tournament official duties will include checking PvP victory counts before each match, keeping the tournament on schedule, awarding prizes and resolving any tournament conflicts that arise. - Make a prize donation. If you want to donate an item or even your time please contact Alvera directly in game or Tristanne via the forums private messaging system. All prize donations will be fully and publicly documented prior to the tournament start. If you donate a prize and it is not selected it will either be returned to you or kept in the vault for future tournaments. Please use discretion with your donations -- your 35 Bilespitters really have no value for this tournament. A basic idea on how the tournament will take place 1. The brackets will be generated to include approximate times for the competition. 2. When your match is called you will be visibly inspected by a tournament official to document your current PvP Wins total. 3. Once inspected you will have will have 30 seconds to enter the PvP queue. 4. Once the pairing is made you will send a message to the tournament official verifying the match has been correctly made. 5. If there is a problem you must notify the official PRIOR to the match starting or the match results will be final. 6. Upon existing the match your PvP wins total will be verified and an official winner announced. 7. The tournament bracket will then be updated with the winner. Rinse, repeat Ideally, we will have 3-5 matches happening simultaneously, but this will definitely be a learning experience and changes will be made on the fly, as needed. * This is a player run and player directed tournament and not sanctioned by NCSoft, Dungeon Runners or anyone officially connected to the game. |

OOOWH..!! This is really good. I think it'll be good to first get the things needed and then officially announce the tournament by another thread. I think the only problem that is left are mis-matches, which can be pretty annoying due to the time of the match and re-enter queue ect ect *Hopes so badly for a direct match option in the next chunk*. Also I think it'll be smart to let the players that have to kill eachother gather at a central point, where as you said, wins can be noted and when direct matched, can be noted that both dissapeared as people can secretly enter the queue and match against someone else. Really good |

LOL @ the 35 bilespitters... will there be a lvl difference for like people lvl 50 and under and 50 and over.. the winner of both classes face off against each other this is to encourage people lvl 50 and under to come out, would suck to get a lvl 100 in the first round (except for me cause i would run around the whole 7 minutes and keep a draw, LOL ) after reading this i would help anyway as people if needed.. once we get the wheels rolling then after a few times we will branch out to teams of either 2,3,4 whichever we feel good about.. I personally think teams are 3 are better as its right in the middle, but then we should also wait for them to nerf people 10 and under before we do teams for them under 50.. |

As I already let Tristanne know, I would be more than willing to donate a few items for prizes (including helping someone for an hour) and help wherever else I can. However, my reason for this post isn't for that. I think perhaps (without spamming) people who are involved with the tournament should make announcements on world chat. This being said, those making the announcement need to be willing to answer any questions, within reason, about the tournament and direct them to the forums for more information. There are several people out there that would probably participant, but don't read the forums yet. Just a suggestion And if this is already happening, then just ignore this post.-------------------- ~Lady Vady~ LadyVady - 100 Maleficent - 8 MsAbbyNormal - 33 "I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer." |

There are three basic areas where assistance is needed: 1. Tournament officials - I think we have this covered, but I generally don't turn down assistance. 2. Prizes - We have several items in the 25-30 range and the 95-100 range, but lack in other level ranges. Clamm, LadyVady, Toestuber, Ariandal, ValariaC have all come thru with rainbow prize offers. We also have 2 level 100s that have donated 1 hour of time so that is wonderful. 3. The biggest need we currently have is to encourage other players to participate in the tournament. |

If u do a tournament with teams, your gonna want to be matched with a team ur own size or else it could be a massacre and also the teams would have to do something like add up each players rating to make the teams rating and get paired like normal so its more fair -------------------- KillerRange - 2k something pvp wins
