How did you hear about Dungeon Runners - Revisited
#38868 - 11/13/07 06:25 PM

This may be deja vu for some of you - I'd like to see what people have to say now

How did YOU hear about Dungeon Runners? What made you go check it out?

I heard about Dungeon Runners through mmorpg.com on their "LFGames" forum section. I went to check it out cause I heard it looked like WoW but played like Diablo. Those were both games I played and liked and I like this game so far.

I like NCSoft and so keep up on what they're doing. So the DR beta was right up my alley. The rest is history.

I responded to this:

Run, don't walk

I immediately signed up for the CAD-comic forums, begged for an invite, tossed several more back out in appreciation, etc... The rest is history.

I don't remember where I heard about it, but I came across it when I was bored one night looking for a free MMO to play. At first I thought it'd be one of those cheapo freebie games, but this is much, much better than any of those games I've played. It keeps getting better, too. Most of the other games similar to this only hold my attention for a few days at most before I get frustrated with the poor gameplay mechanics and English. This held my attention. I can't wait for my real computer to be fixed so I can play some more >.>

It was featured one day on Yahoo.com as one of 7 recent and cool "totally free" games. I played about 5 levels of it and started paying money! Ya got me.

I really dont remember too 100%, must have been mmorpg.com where I look when im ready for something new in online games (often, I have a short attention span). Only online game I payed for too .

Now what I would like to know is: how did you expect us to remember? have you any idea about what the average age of a dungeonrunner gamer is? WE ARE OLD! I cant remember what I ate last night.... .:). *old man mumbling, getting back to work, sigh!*

I read a lot of reviews for free M*RPGs. Dungeon Runners was well reviewed and easy to pick up.

I heard Nomad playing it from her office across the hall. Then I got moved from CoH to DR/Exteel/L1, and got to work with Stephen and MarkT. Then I went back to CoH but couldn't keep away from a lil'Dungeon Running.

That wasn't very helpful, was it?

cheers,
JS

Well it’s a long time ago, since it was only on beta. I read about it in a magazine I think and then I saw a movie…I like it, but I forget about it and then a friend of mine started to play and convinced me too.

I play Guild Wars and was on the mailing lists and got a mailing about DR. I was curious as I was looking for a new diversion that wasn't as time consuming as GW. I read up about the game on the website and found myself laughing at the humor. I decided to go for it and try it out. I became a member within a week. I love how this game is so easy play as long or as short as you like. I have invited several friends that aren't hard-core gamers to try it out cause I think the DR experience might be fun for them.
And at $5 I don't feel obliged to play for hours at a time to get my moneys worth.
So - I look forward to teaming up with some of you if I ever have more than 45 minutes to play at a time.

I was looking around the PlayNC site trying to find out what the hell was going on with Exteel, and spotted this while I was at it. <.<

Yahoo! did a "Top five free games for a laptop" before (I think this was maybe around June?) and Dungeon Runners was on that list. I thank Yahoo! for being my homepage.

Yay for no need of a numpad!

I used to be a CoH player a year or two back and still get the newsletters. The last one mentioned this game and I thought, for free, why not give it a shot.

Got roped into paying a couple nights later.
