More Dungeon Stages to Explore for Higher Levels!
#38377 - 11/03/07 09:47 PM |
The game starts to slow down about level 40 and needs something to speed it back up. I was trying to think of what that could be and what slowed it down in the first place. Finally I came up with an answer. The Dungeons go from every 5 levels to every 10 to more levels before you can play in them. I know this is a lot to ask for , but could you place dungeons at 5 character level intervals. You don't need to worry about quests at first. It will be nice just to have a change of scenery. I have gotten 4 character above level 40. got bored with most of them and deleted most of them. Please. I don't think I will get bored with this game any time soon. Just please work on the level 40 to 100 experience so it is as good as the 1 to 40 one. Please. Thank You. |

Well, to be honest I think the biggest problem is around level 55-60 to 75, and 85 to 100. Ratsputin isnt that popular because it just isnt as fun imo at level 85+. But I do know that new dungeons are in the work, not officially said but I am very very sure. -------------------- LegendRunner - level 100 Ace something The Townstons Wiki Archive! - Boss of TT Dont Feed The Trolls! what about more quests instead of more dungeons. You could use the old dungeons and have updated quests for them. Can you imagine a level 40-50 version of the Dew Valley quests? The boss could be the the ghost of Rattle Tooth, all the broodlings could be broodling zombies, zombie blademastes, etc, and the wolfs could be upgraded to spirit hounds or something like that :} |

I don't pay much attention to quest, though I do them. I'm more into items and the challenge of the monsters. I would prefer a new dungeon...there are a lot of quests and quests are easy to be done. just change the color of the object you must collect and here it is: a new quests also new dungeon brings new quest. so the first wish brings the carry out of the second ![]() |

I understand what your saying, but I'm not talking about adding an orange paint quest. I'm talking about a complete dungeon refresh when you start certain trigger quests so that you get a new dungeon with out a new location using the same resources for the developers saving time and money which seems very important. For instance, my example of Dew Valley. It would be a completely new dungeon with new monsters/mobs/boss/etc (only after accepting a new "The million dead rat march" level 50 quest) This could be done for almost any already existing dungeon creating all new running experiences with out lots of extra development. Also you should be able to revert the dungeons back to there original states by removing the quest from your log. In short, my suggestion creates "new" dungeons for the upper middle leveled dungeon runner with out a lot of development cost or time. |

well, you know that they want to be original...just an idea that came: what about secret levels? hidden levels that are hard to get into and I'm not talking about the bonus level...a secret 1 level dungeon that could be accessed randomly for example by getting through an invisible wall or by accessing a switch. that kind of stuff. that would be nice |

that would be fun. Also something like Fable's Demon Doors that you have to meet certain requirements to open. Could you imagine special dungeons that only open on certain days? The Full Moon Dungeon, Halloween Dungeon, May Day Dungeon all come to mind :} Also you can combine your idea of secret triggers to my idea of reusing old dungeons. For instance at level 40 you get a key to a door that opens at the back of rattle tooth's lair to The Rattle Family Graveyard where you have to fight more powerful undead versions of the whole rattle clan :} |

World of Warcraft has a similar system to what Itchy is talking about. At the level cap, you can meet a certain requirement (in WoW, it's a key for a particular group of dungeons). After getting the key, you can open up a new, more difficult version of the dungeon, with improved loot and such (called "heroics"). Maybe something like that could be implemented. Once you reach a certain level, you can get a new quest you can quickly do to "unlock" that new version of an old dungeon, with better items, more difficult monsters, and increased XP appropriate for that level. When you want to do that dungeon, just toggle it on through a menu, and when you want to go back to the old version, just turn it off and reset instances. Like you said, it'd be kinda neat going through those old dungeons again, it would add more content, and make it a bit easier for the developers to vary things up a bit. In WoW, it's fairly time consuming to get the keys, but here they could make it a good deal easier to keep with the casual feel of the game. A demon doors thing would be cool, too. One thing I think is missing from most online games is the neat hidden stuff that's so abundant in single-player games. Everything has a purpose, and nothing seems to be there just for the sake of being cool to stumble upon. Anyway, this post was really long. Sorry! Edit: thought I should note I don't mean wait until the level cap here to unlock new dungeons! For example, once you're level 35, you can go try the new version of Dew Valley, and so on.
