I have two characters in DR.

One is a Mage. He is awesome! He goes through hordes of monsters without even slowing down. He blasts his enemies with spells taking whole groups down very quickly. He “feels” powerful.

The other is a Fighter. It takes a long time for him to take out groups of monsters. He takes a lot of damage in the process, and has to swig a lot of potions. He “feels” weak.

So I respecced the Fighter into more of a hybrid battle mage. He still relies heavily on melee damage, but has enough Intelligence and mana to have effective AOEs spells. A few well place gas blasts, ring of fire and shadow lightning spells make his job so much easier (and more fun)!

Maybe fighters are fine and I should just L2P. But I do have a couple of suggestions for balancing the fighter class:

1) Base melee attack rating on strength (not agility). They can leave ranged attack rating based on agility. That way, pure fighters can concentrate on strength and let the rangers worry about agility.

2) Give Cleave a major buff. It seems pretty useless in its current state.

as far as the other goes.... you just have to walk a fine line between what is and isn't enough to get by with.
I agree with you that the warrior can be a pain in the [censored] to keep his damage and defense high enough so that the kills are quick and yoou don't get hit as much. Plus you've got to make sure you have enough hp to survive. But the also you have to worry about hitting stuff so you have to keep an eye on your agility....


so really mage is the easiest toon... pump int for damage, toss in a little end so you can live long enough to deal the damage and poof! you is cooking with gas:)

samething if you go for the crit ranger... through in a bunch of agi some end every so often and you canz haz cheezburger real quick like:)

i stay straight warrior with Bogey ti 40ish..moved to battlemage til about 60...did the last 40 lvls in Demonic Crypts as a pure int mage with shadow damage bonus gear poppin shadow lightening and gaseous blast every step of the way:)

I had the same problem to start with my fighter and alot of mobs, at the time i was DW. After some tweeking with the class i found a great fit for myself, 2 hander with cleave, awesome cleave and gasous poison, i have 2 % mana steal and only 800 mana so once i cleave i get near full mana so i am never outta mana, havent used a mana pot in weeks. I put my points 3 str 1 agi 1 endurance atm and i near 12k hp and 6k armor at 42. GL i hope this helps, only thing i see bad with a fighter with spells is low damage for those spells unless you really relie on int in that case you just might asw well go mage at 25 with mana shield.

A little hint for the fighters having problem hitting. Use the Mad Melee Mastery passive. This allows you to have less AGI and still hit as often. This was added to help alleviate the dispersion of stats to all 4 main attributes.

Ehh.. bogey, if you want much cash go do ratsputin , really helps.
To help you, all skills together are around 72.5 million gold.

I have around the same price for all skills ... but I think it depresses people to see that number.

Ye, I should have said that you need to mind this price is upto level 100, and leveling to 100 will make loads and loads of gold. Fast leveling in demonic crypts a bit less, ratsputin a bit more. The full price will be easily paid when doing leveling at ratsputin at lvl 80+, for sure.

and i keep spending loads and loads of cash.... but i guess when I can pull about 5 mill in a good day of running it's all relative(?)

i guess I'm gonna have to run ratboy someday... i cheated and got a wp so i could at least say bogey killed him.. still haven't ran the quests totally...
