Official Thread: Build 95, UI Changes
#37704 - 10/23/07 12:04 PM

This thread is for feedback on the following:

UI Changes
We’ve been adjusting and fixing issues with the UI…

Modifier List Revamped
We’ve changed how the list of modifiers works to let you see many more modifiers on your character at one time. For the uninitiated, a modifier is a buff or de-buff. Through the magic of code, this list can now display dozens of modifiers at one time.

Current Target Health Bar Moved
Because of the increased capacity of the modifier list, we’ve added the option to move the health bar / name display for your current target to just under the zone name display on the mini map. Check out the options screen to use this new placement.

Quest Log, Part II
We’ve changed the quest log to ensure that quest text is more readable and that unsightly text clipping no longer occurs.

Scroll Bars Reworked
We’ve swapped out the nasty-looking scroll buttons with scroll bars on each UI screen that could scroll (excluding the chat window).

I love the changes to the Quest log. Indeed, it's much easier to read and tell what I've completed.

What would be nice if there was a filter that could list quests in particular dungeons a la expandable menus. Yes, I got the idea from the WoW quest log, but I think it fits perfectly in here, given that DR has no quest limit and they do tend to accumulate. Keeping then straight can take quite a bit of scrolling.

for example, unexpanded, they would look like:

+Algernon (2)
+Algor's Terror Dome (1)

Expanded:

-Algernon (2)
|_Sisserat's Common Relics
|_Sisserat's Unusual Relics

-Algor's Terror Dome (1)
|_Algor's Unusual Relics

But they should be independently expandable, not an all or nothing type thing:

+Algernon (2)

-Algor's Terror Dome (1)
|_Algor's Unusual Relics

If it's easier, I don't particularly care if it gets reset back to an unexpanded view when I close the Quest Log.

What does everyone else think?

Agree completely. Would also help to clean up the quest menu. I often have uncompleted quests from multiple dungeons that would be nice to minimize so they are not in the way. Also would help to organize a little better.
