Unly USA servers ?
#37612 - 10/22/07 10:17 AM |
Hello people I have noticed there are only USA servers available when i am logging into the game. Since i am in Europe this greatly adds to network lag , making the game barely playable at times ... When will you add EUropean servers ? ( UK ) |

We have servers located in Germany and are working toward getting them up and running. Sadly, there's a bug in our server that causes some issues when we have them located in Europe. We're working to fix that. ETA on that? Chunk #2. steve |

Hey, actually, I'm a liar... but in a good way. It looks like we'll be able to turn on our European servers over the next week or so. steve |

Uh oh I see it already ... getting ready for a swift kick in the *** and need to find another home world. Here is to hoping they add a new world and not convert an existing world as they have in the past. -------------------- JoeB - Level 100 - Back to a Fighter where he belongs SirOldBottom - Level 42 - Shadow Merc Mearlin - Level 29 - Mage Dungeon Runners Map Build 0.95 |

Be sure to open the ports if your using a router or firewall. Its ports 2110/7777 Also in my opinion everyone should turn off windows firewall. Go to start>run>type Services.cmd>Find windows firewall/internet connection sharing(ICS)> right click it go to properties and set startup type to disabled. Of course if you want a useless firewall or have personal data that could be hacked or something continue to use it. |

Broadband users, especially those without hardware firewalls (which is almost everybody except the most diehard geeks), need to have both some form of software firewall. The windows firewall is almost worthless, but is better than nothing. Personally, I prefer Comodo Firewall Pro , which is both excellent and free! While we're on the subject of PC security, I also highly recommend NOD32 for AV software. Don't take my word for it, though, check out AV-Comparitives. |

Quote: Comodo's nice and easier to use than most solutions. I've sworn off Symantec and McAffee. They seem to introduce more problems than they fix. I also use Clamwin (ClamAV for windows) which is an open source anti virus scanner and free. I'd be interested in seeing how it stands up to the other packages in that list that Ripper posted, but since it lacks a resident memory scanner, I'm not sure it'd do as well. Some things *ARE* worth paying for. -------------------- Artek - Lvl 14 Ranger Rufgar - Lvl 23 Fighter Argel - Lvl 32 Mage |

Quote: Comodo is a great firewall, and the next version will be Vista compatible (not many software firewalls are yet - the ones that are kinda... suck). Some routers offer firewall protection too - not as robust as a software firewall, but they offer the same protection as a basic hardware firewall - only newer routers do it though, and not all of them (check the detailed specs before purchasing). |

Well Im kinda wondering... is this a problem at all? Lag I mean. I havent play for a couple of months true, but at the time I did play, I did not notice any serious lag (maybe 2 or 3 times in the 2 months I played). I live in Denmark (thats europe, scandinavia, for those of you who does not know). -------------------- Retired. But that does not mean you can keep me away from the community now and again.... |
