I played DR for a little while back in April(?) and left because I wasn't too keen on the movement. I got the Chunk email and decided to check it out because it mentioned improved movement.

As I get into the dungeon, I realize I couldn't remember how to see the name of loot being dropped. So I sent an world message asking what I was forgetting. I mentioned I had just returned to the game and thought I forgot to do something. I was immediately rewarded with very helpful responses and figured out what I needed to do.

Because I remembered that this game has a silly fun feel to it, I named my new character BunnyBunBunBun. I immediately get a tell from a player named "Stephen" that just says "Hey there." Having played CoH/V for 3+ years (and still playing), I am VERY leary about blind tells, especially when I have a name like BunnyBunBunBun. But, for some reason, I decided to answer him.

He confirms that I am returning player and I tell him that I played a while ago, didn't get far and left because of movement. He asked how movement was now and I told him that I think it's MUCH improved and I will probably re-subscribe. (I'm thinking "why am I telling this 'Stephen' this information?") I'm still waiting for the 13 year old behind the keyboard to ask something err.. inapproriate...

Stephen then asked if I came back because of the email, which I did, and how I liked the email. (I thought the email was VERY funny.) He asked me about the artwork and a little light bulb went on over my head and I replied with "Umm... so I guess I am not talking to just another player huh?" Stephen smiled and told me who he was.

I replied with "Cool! In my 3+ years of CoX, I never spoke to someone impo'tent before!" I really thought it was great that a big developer like Stephen took the time to ask me my opinion! In Game! Not Hiding! After I ended today's session, I immediately re-subscribed.

yeah i have to agree the devs on this game really do reach out to players and i wouldnt say cater to them but they do listen and try to improve it as much as possible.. for example i was on the test server and tried the queen fight out for a change and stephen asked how i like it as i was with another 100 and a mid 60 character.. we told him what we thought about it and he listened
