DUNGEON RUNNERS TRADING CARD GAME
#37043 - 10/10/07 12:32 PM |
(previously posted under the "required reading" infamous summary of suggestions.) OK...I forgot to mention my best idea yet. I've been thinking about Dungeon Runners and how it could be a more popular game. Fact is...people just don't know about it. It is one of the MOST addictive games I have ever played....and I've been playing them since 1977! Dungeon Runners captures what MAKES a game addicting. Quick Kills, Gold Coins, Leveling Up, New skills, New spells, New equipment. There is ALWAYS another goal to reach...and there is very quick payoff each and every time. The pay off is so quick...that there is ALWAYS time for just ONE MORE RUN. I came up with what I think would be not only FUN...but great viral marketing. Think POKEMON meets Dungeon Runners. INTRODUCING: DUNGEON RUNNERS TRADING CARD GAME. Players can print out Color Trading Cards THEMSELVES of their FAVORITE Dungeon Runners and Monsters. They would be sized to fit into the "sleeves" at walmart that hold Pokemon or Yu Gi Oh cards. You would not only put "DungeonRunners.com" on every card, but player stats, equipment, power ups, etc. Special Cards could be purchased with kings coin or gold maybe. You could have special attack cards, game tip cards, favorite quote cards, developer BIO cards, etc. It would be a cool way to give your friends a screen shot and stats card of YOU...That's RIGHT....YOU ARE THE HERO!...but the card would include an invitation with 3 days free trial or something and a Refer a friend credit code! You would have to make it possible to create a manual CARD GAME out of it. A way for a "Dungeon Runner Master" to guide several Dungeon Runners through a manual battle. Once the game is learned, there would be no need for the Runner Master. You could play against monsters or PvP one on on or group vs group. KIDS across the WORLD would be printing off hundreds of cards...putting them in sleaves...laminating them...giving them away as gifts to show off their accomplishments, sharing their love of the game, and building Dungeon Runners Groups EVERYWHERE. People would trade and play MORE than POKEMON....why? Because it is FREE and PERSONAL. Let this be my official electronic proof of concept in the event that it is needed in the future. I am qualified and would love to work on this project. Tell me my check is in the mail! lol GO DUNGEON RUNNERS! Lol, Before saying things, I'd like to say "IMO!". Here it comes. Why a trade card game in thingy's name?! You are thinking way to big for now, this aint WoW lol. This has nothing to do with the game at all. By the way tis handy to make 4 suggestions in 1 thread instead of 4 threads, and without capslock and a nice title might nice, as that gets more attention than this. -------------------- LegendRunner - level 100 Ace something The Townstons Wiki Archive! - Boss of TT Dont Feed The Trolls! OK...I get it. But I have a problem with nay sayers. What would you suggest other than NO? My goal is to bring another dimension to the DR experience and most of all PROMOTE the game and Customer Loyalty. No this isn't world of warcraft...but I don't think WOW has a trading game do they? I've never played online or seen cards in a store. Besides...this is more of a PERSONAL thing. Something you do YOURSELF for FREE. I know my sons would print out their character cards and hand them out with PRIDE. They would spend DAYS a year printing out and word of mouth distributing DR PROMOTIONS...FREE to DR Corporate! Baseball Cards and Game Cards have been around FOREVER.It is an established medium. Hell...put a coupon for free FRIES from McDonalds with the purchase of a Soda on them! Think outside the box. There is rarely greatness without risk. =========================================== PistolPunk (insert picture here) Level 50 Str: ___ Agi: ___ End: ___ Int: ___ Ability Bar: ___, ___, ___, ___, ___, ___, ___, ___, ___, ___. I only see an upside here. No...it is not part of the game...but it is part of the COMMUNITY. It's a way for one kid in school to turn the whole school on to DR. Its a way for one guy at the office to share it with the company. Ultimately...the BEST part of DR is the voice (and text) chat. Let us UNITE! And yeah...Maybe some kids may actually PLAY "DR Cards" when no Computer is available. Mostly they will collect cards of their friends, DR Legends, Tip Cards, and Special Ability cards just like they horde kings coins and Rainbows for no reason. lol Again...if you DON'T WANT to participate in a card program that would let you build friends to play with and earn FREE time for the Referral Program....simply DON'T PRINT THEM. Respectfully Submitted. -------------------- KCMM (= Kansas City, Mark M.) MrBoomBaStick |

Yes WoW as a TCG. Besides making a TCG requires a great developer team and a lot and a lot of loyal customers wich requires many years to build, expecially nowadays and in a new game as DR, belive me, i know what i'm speak 'cause i played 3-4 years of Pokemon TCG, 7-8 years of Magic: The Gathering and 2-3 of Yu-Gi-Oh TCG and even played a little of Duel Masters. TCG's are very complex and this isn't the time, monetarely, numbers of fans, and even because the lack of content to design a TCG. And yo even want people to print their own cards? That's not professional and would is just bring the TCG and eventually DR down. -------------------- BloodString - Level 35 Ninja/Scrapper/Scout/something xD Edited by DeathPaladin222 (10/10/07 07:12 PM) |

Points WELL taken. I guess I was thinking in the vein of FREE to try...gotta BUY. That it's kind of an "old school" smash and bash RPG and that people would like the option of printing some screen shot cards, squad cards, etc. I thought it might be a good way to promote at the grass roots level...lol Perhaps if members received a quarterly mailer with a few professional "business cards" to hand out to friends as invites? Just brainstorming here and looking for ideas from others to help out the guys who made this possible for us. Thanks. -------------------- KCMM (= Kansas City, Mark M.) MrBoomBaStick |

I might play the game but the problem is is printing. DR is losing money to the TCG because players don't buy their cards from stores they just print them off. Those that get benefits are those that make printers, printer ink, and printer paper. To me that would be the dumbest move ever. One franchise I think could do a very good TCG now would be the Final Fantasy franchise. It has such a HUGE background to it that it would be easy to make it and there are countless fans of that franchise. -------------------- Hey all. I'm Corinthal from Dungeon Runners. Exactly DR doesn't have a huge back catalog of things to put in. -------------------- Hey all. I'm Corinthal from Dungeon Runners. Most commonly found in world 7. Hope to group with you all soon. |

Quote: Actually, they could do an Online CCG, like Star Chamber, Cardmaster Chaos, Legends of Norrath, and the Auto Assault CCG. |

How about a variation on this theme to add a fun mini-game in the game. Let trading cards drop as loot in game....cards having different rarities just like other items. Then let players compete against each other in the mini-game. Also, could have NPC's in towns with whom you could enter tournaments. Results would increase your trading card score/rank. Players would also be able to trade and/or sell cards. |
