Fatal Error message when loading the game

When the game finishes loading I get this message "Error compiling shader game/effects/2.0/silhouetteBlit.fx, Try setting User.cfg[display] section to pipeline=VFPF" Then it closes the window. I have tried a few things but it still doesn't work. |

Well that did help, but when I open that file with notepad its blank. |

No, I just downloaded it yesterday and got the problem the first time opening it, also, I opened the file titled default and that seems to have the Display section in it. |

The file is a "read-only" file, so it wont let me save the changes I make to it. |

That sounds like a permissions issue (the files aren't read-only by default, even default.cfg). Are you logged in as a user with administrative rights to Windows? If not, you should be in order to install and/or configure the application. |

No, I am logged in on the admin account, I am on the only account that isnt a guest account. It still wont let me change the file. |

The only thing I can think of is to right-click the file, open properties and see if you can de-select the read-only checkbox. You aren't trying to modify it while your playing, are you? Edited by Ripper_McGee (10/08/07 05:25 PM) |

That did work and I added the pipeline = VFPF at the bottom of the details section, but I got the same error message when tryingt o open the game. |

It sounds as though you are running Vista. Are you getting some pop up message asking you to let it do some auto-detection of the video card? -------------------- I was young and needed the experience points. Tet - Lvl 50something Fighter Loose - Lvl 30something Mage |
