The New Player Intro to DR
#36161 - 09/25/07 01:06 PM

Hi, if your new to the game this is a general introduction to the game. im not writting this to tell ppl how to play or what things are in a specific sence, instead im writting this as an introduction to the game to let new players better understand the upsides of DR and let them decide after reading if they would like to try/play it.

aside from being a free game (if u chose not to upgrade and pay the 5 bux to be able to use all the items and use the bank), the game offers many benifits. Most of all (being an ex-hardcore WoW player) this game is just as fun CASUALLY played as it is played for long amounts of time. some other benifits are listed below.

BENIFITS

-The #1 best part of this game compared to any other mmorpg is this game is CLASSLESS!
(this means that u can at ne point in the game u can switch class's, merge them [hybrid], use dif skills etc...all on the same character)

-NO "COOKIE CUTTER" game play...the is NO wrong way to play, u can use ne skills, ne spec, ne point allotment, ne gear and do just about ne thing in the game all while having fun..in my own words this is the game were, "being bad is good and being good is better". i say this bc there is no way u could really mess up

-NO class types, there is no healing class, no dps class and no real tanking class...all class's are equiped with skills to hlp them kill things effectivly

-SOLO = GROUP...in other words anything you can do in the game as a group u can do solo...there is no need to mass organize, or to be stuck for days like in other games trying to find the "right" group...however sometimes it is fun to run with a grp, the game remains social without forcing it

-HUMOR, this game incorporates humor into every aspect of the game...basically making fun of both the genre and pop culture, this lax form helps compliment the ability to enjoy the game casually, however it does not take away from the games long term payoff in how much fun u can have.

DOWNSIDES (if u call them that)

-LACKS BEAFY MMO MATERIAL, in other words u will not see (yet) raiding, guilds, "end game content", extensive auction or mailing systems...for some ppl comming from other mmo's this seems primitive, but honestly i think its a breath of fresh air as it allows the game to really shine in what its good at, being a simply fun game

-STILL EVOLVING, now at first this may sound weird, but let me explain...bc the game is relativly new it still has core dynamic changes being made, new things added...im not saying they are bugs, but some of the game has not been perfected yet...
(NOTE: the DEVS take the game very seriously from the standpoint of proactivly developing content and making what the FANBASE wants, this was the biggest difference i noticed between this and WoW, and noticed the first day i played)

***********************************************

well to sum up things this game is something like an action based, run in and kill lots of stuff rpg implanted into an mmo world/setting. u get the action fix u wanted, u get to grp and be social, u get loot quickly without hours of tedious raiding or questing...and if u go member u pay about 5-10 bux less a month then competeing companies titles. also there is little to no "burnign time' type stuff like travelling for long stretches, time spent grping is minimal and not nessasary to accomplish ne of the content.

if you like action, humor, a more reasonable time/reward ratio, and have only a few mins a week or the whole week to play...this game will probably be what ur looking for

it offers what other games offer in pve content without the burdens and also offers a fun pvp aspect that is 100% by-choice-participation, i highly recommend it
