ok, I am a lvl 7 mage I was running lvl 1 of the Algernon dungeon. Had just defeated the Rude ratling, and I went to open the chests in the room. Two of them looked like wicker or bamboo, the first one I opened out pops 2 giants named keeper something along with 20 little tops and they proceed to attack me.
Ok, should be no issue, other than when I hit them with any of my attacks, THEY DID NOT DROP ANY HEALTH at all!!!!!!
Let me repeat that, THEY DID NOT LOOSE ANY HEALTH NO MATTER WHAT I HIT THEM WITH. I on the other hand, used 20 health potions in less than 2 mins, more like 60 secs trying to at first fight them, then run for my life to get out.
So, the question is: WHAT THE HECK WERE THEY, AND WHY DID THE NOT TAKE ANY DAMAGE??????????????

Update, went back into game, had escaped the dungeon using a town portal scroll, They were still there, and came after me immediatly

Yeah, those guys are pretty funny, huh?

Apparently some have differing immunities, just judging from the few who jumped out of boxes at me.

Did you see a little 'IMMUNE' or 'RESIST' message over their heads everytime you hit them? If so use a different attack, if not then I dunno what to tell you.

The first time one popped out at me I freaked out. I didn't understand what was going on, I thought maybe I somehow grouped someone. It wasn't til I was almost dead I figured out it was an enemy. I popped a potion and laid waste to him in a matter of seconds.

I am not really sure why you couldn't damage them, I've never had 2 pop out of one chest though.

used fire, used lighting, did not see any resist signs,only the red nubmers indicatind -25, -50 but not on them, just me. I am lvl 7 mage, don't know what to tell you all about that, but the whooped me good.

I've had that consistantly happen in Algernon Level 7 near the entrance to Sissirat's Lair.
It seems to always happen with very small Bamboo Chests.
What I do as a Fighter is constantly attack the Main Character and then attack the Trophys.

I always clear the Summoned Trophy Guardians first.

Shadow Lightning is actually very useful for this, as it hits all the Guardians, and may hit the Hero too.

I have a mage, a ranger, and a fighter and haven't had any problems with them. I didn't pay any attention to see what if anything they resisted since they go down really fast, the summoned, the hero takes longer but still not bad, I use fire, poison, and shadow lightning on them and was thinking they all worked but may have just not noticed if they were resisting one of them. In any case they didn't resist them all.

Every floor of Algernon I experience two popping out of the chests. I quickly lay waste to them all the time with my fighter. Great hammers seem to dominate them.

I've only seen the 2 relic guards from one chest thing happen once. Prolly not a bug, but a feature. Also 8 (4x2) of the trophy guards popped out. Pretty fun and challenging if your not expecting it, or if its on insane.

I've never had two from one chest myself. It would be nice if a dev could say whether this is a bug or not.

I can never seem to get my camera in a position i am satisfied with and as a result i often cannot see damage numbers or resists coming from some of the larger mobs. I wont ask for a combat log though through fear of flamage.So maybe some of you can use this SUPERGUIDE to assist you in the dungeon.

If mob health go down = spell you are using is good.
If mob health not go down = consider trying different spell
If mob health go up and down = consider trying kill different mob.
If mob health go round and round = the mob on your screen is the last thing you should be worried about.

I just checked with Mark. He indicated that currently, this is a bug and they are aware of it. Well, perhaps I should clarify. The multiple-big-guy spawn is a bug. :-P I have no idea when they'll be able to fix it, but I wanted to confirm for you that we are aware of it. :-P

I think it would be great if 2 popped out occasionally ... makes things more interesting (personally only had it happed once from same chest). But only if they are dropping 4 relics instead of the normal 2.

Thanks for the heads up Zzyn. I wouldn't mind the occasional double spawn as well. So... make this bug a feature? That would be easier than recoding and stuff, right?

I think I've come across some of these guys before. I opened a relic chest and a bunch of guys popped out and scared the crap out of me, then proceeded to try to kill me! The nerve! They almost got me, too, but I ended up winning. Had to use a few potions, though :P

What are the relics used for? I am a noob at the game so sorry if this is a stupid question.

The relics are items for quests given by the banker for which you receive KC as a reward. You should know what KC are by the King's Coin quest from Dew Valley.

What people aren't telling you in this thread is it's a known bug that the veteran player community takes advantage of to get more relic items. To get 2 relic guardians, you triple click the relic chest when opening it. Triple clicking seems, by my empirical study, to work pretty well on all chests, allowing you to double the reward you get from a chest.

When im playin alone and see one ill get right next to him so all he does is run around in circels and do his chain lightning attack. If im in a group ussualy someone else will do that and ill just AoE him and his trophies to death.

I got this to happen consistently the other night by clicking on any given relic chest 1,2,3 times about a half second apart. 9 out of 10 chests I got 2 guardians.

Yes, the vets who have been at this a while know of this (or should) interesting little "bug"...

Clicking 3 times as quickly as you can on a chest will either double the loot or the number of Guardians assigned to be summoned from the chest.

I hope that they don't squash this particular one too soon as it DOES have it's uses from time to time.

I tried this multi-click thing, and so far I have not got any significant benefits. I haven't received any double guardians using this, and neither have a received more than one relic from a chest if a guardian did not appear. On the other hand, I normally click only once to open chests, and I quite frequently get double guardians.

While double guardians is a known bug, I am inclined to believe that multi-click is just a 'superstition'.

I have to disagree Nec, I have farmed Rot almost every night in the past two weeks. I use the double click tech, 3 out of 4 chests pop two items. This is repeatable as It happens everytime.

I was with Dark on a lot of those runs in the last two nights, and we both repeatedly tried clicking the chests at the end different ways to see if this occurence was reproducable at least more than what one would call "random", and it definitely is. But, the argument is kind of moot since so many people have already said they do it regularly and have been doing it for so long. I ALWAYS get more loot and double guardians if I multi-click, but I only SOMETIMES get it/them if I single click. So maybe it is just some glitch that happens randomly in the code/programming no matter how many/much you technically click, but maybe clicking MORE times give you a higher chance of having it occur consistently? I mean, I must get 8 out of 10 double guardians from relic chests when I multi-click; prob 1 out of 10-20 if I don't...

But, like I said, I was with Dark on a bunch of those farming runs and what he's saying is the truth.

I'm inclined to believe in Coincidence. Plus the weird psychological theory which states if you expect to see a pattern, you will, or something like that.
