Video Lag.
#34027 - 08/31/07 07:45 AM

Ok I have a PoV GeForce 7300GT, Pentium 4 (2.04GHz), 1GB DRR. 80 GB ide Hdd,Page file 2GB,Free space 14gb, Video Drivers freshly updated. I have the Pipeline VPVF thingy in my User.cfg. I got aliasing set to 0 and I have lag everywhere. Not something like 10fps but like 1 frame per 3secs I'm 100% sure that I don't have viruses because I'm using an antivirus and I also create viruses of my own so I know that i don't have some fishy processes running. All opts on nVidia options set to preformance. And can some1 tell my why I have lag? Maby there is a progy which determines why you have lag? Other games like CS run at 100fps all the time, CSS also runs quite nicely. I do think that reinstallation of windows would help. But I'm not sure that I should do that.

To see if it is a program or an issue with any software you may have, run the game under a clean boot:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353

Obvioulsy dont disable the net on the clean boot.If it doesnt lag after that then the problem is at your end somehow, if it still lags then it is most likely at the games end or just a poor connection.

What resolution are you set to? do you have bad frame rate at 640x480? What frame rate do you get in the login screen ( you can use a free program like FRAPS to find out ). Are there other processes eating up cpu cycles?

I did start a clean startup. Disabled all non-ms services. Made a setting that windows would not load startup items and that did not help either. No strange proccesses running. Im playing at 1024x760 or whatever. No antialiasing no nonething.

Disable firewall or if you use a router:
enable TCP 2110 and TCP 7777
