Graphics glitch Intel Q965
#33664 - 08/28/07 02:08 PM

Hi all, I've had a really bizzare glitch in the graphics of the game. When I launch it, the skeleton king model is completely non-existant.

As in not sitting in his chair.

When I log in, some textures are flickering in an out, it's especially noticable on the lath from the townston obelist up to the bank and vendors, by the river. It looks like I can walk on air... I shall rename my character to JeebusMage

Any ideas? I have the newest drivers, newest DX, all updates, etc.

It's an intel Q963/Q963 graphics. (This is just on my work computer)

Assuming that this is an integrated card it is not surprising that it does not work properly. You can try running in windowed mode, this seems to help some other cards. Although first time I have heard of the skeleton not being there.

While no speed demon your card should run the game just fine. Do you know how much shared memory has been alocated to the integrated chip set? ( you can usualy change that in the boot menue ). The more the better.

Try forcing fixed function pipline by inserting this text in the user.cfg under display options "Pipeline = VFPF" how ever I belive the game on this card should do that step automaticaly .

I already added the line, no go.

I've got 256 shared to the video with 3GB of DDR2 in the system, so that shouldn't be an issue.

A co-worker of mine has the gaem run just fine on his system, it's similar to mine.

While not game breaking, it IS very annoying to constantly have textures flash in and out while I play.

There a couple things you can try, first off, make sure the driver you have states it supportsD3D and OpenGL. Many of the intel drivers do not support either or have partial support in them. The readme that came with the driver should tell you if it does or not.
If you have AA enabled disable it, this can cause texture tear, also, make sure you enable vert sync. This can also help with tearing textures, it uses your monitor signal to sync with the game.
