PWND! by the Boss
#33554 - 08/27/07 11:42 PM

I just did some PvP with Stephen.

Found out some things.

1. I suck at PvP
2. Rangers are better at ambush than toe to toe
3. The quicker you can move the better
4. Ice bolt and fire bolt are a plus
5. Holy roller yep going to need that
6. I really suck at PvP
7. did I mention that I suck at PvP

Hahahahaha
I would be willing to bet a few rainbows that my ranger (51) would thrash stephen right now or anytime in the near future. I know I could kill a level 82 ranger.....:D

Steve is pretty hardcore for his level. You better watch it, Tanis.

Don't feel too bad, Knuckledragger...he totally whooped my [censored] also, and he was only one level ahead of me. Like your bout though, it was rather educational. My biggest problem was that most of my powerful skills were all AOE (gas blast w/Toxic Talent, Ring of Fire, Acidic Blight), and he'd stay just out of range (or run really fast and escape AOE) and wail on me with Ice Bolt and Holy Roller. After the match was over, he was really cool about it and gave me some useful tips on how to improve my pvp build. He stressed the need for ranged attacks (Stephen said, 'Ranged Attack = FTW'), lighter armor with less movement restrictions, and the need for me to get Holy Roller and anything else that would either knock down or stun my opponent, giving me time to actually use my AOE skills and have them work.

I followed his advice and have also been wondering if I should add the Shadow Smackdown skill to my pvp build, I've never used it before so I'm not sure how well it will work. But it was fun playing, 'The Boss' even if it didn't result in victory. He's a good sport and very gracious in victory, no 'nose-rubbing' or anything like that

Stephen just plans his action, that's how he wins

Stephen used exploits. Yup. I know this to be true because if you ask him, he will tell you that he had to use invulnerabilty to ensure he lived while he was calculating the damage output of various weapons to ensure that a level playing field is in place during pvp. He would then expand that into a problem with hiim losing and Crickette laughing at him for weeks on end because of said loss.

Yup. Sounds like an exploit to me. :P

Maybe he did before, I wouldn't know. But I don't think he still is, if he ever really was. I say that not to contradict you, it's just that I played another PvP match with him maybe a half hour or so ago. He won again (as usual, haha) but since I followed his previous advice, not only did I not die nearly as much but I actually took him down once (as in , he died and respawned) so I really don't think Stephen is using an exploit. And I remember in the previous match I played with him (the first one) although I never took him down, I did notice his HP bar at top center of screen definitely showing damage/lowering.

Anyway, just my two cents...but it was a fun match tonight!

If it makes you guys feel any better I'm the one who decided Stephen needed to have a forum avatar. I hope you guys like the one I picked for him....
