Chunk #1: Relics and Shrines

Please place all feedback regarding Relics and Shrines in this thread.

PLEASE TEST BEFORE YOU POST!

PTS Patch Notes:

Relics

We’ve added a new relic-collection meta-game to Dungeon Runners. You’ll see new relic chests appearing in the dungeons. These chests have a chance to generate sweet relics that you can turn in for cash or King’s Coins. They also contain other surprises that you’ll have to see for yourself!

Shrines

We’ve added random shrines to the dungeons as well! You’ll know these when you see them. Simply click on the shrine to get a special buff to help increase your power!

The changes to the banker now giving relic quests seems to have greatly increased the mouse over area once the banker is selected, requiring a bit of turning/trial and error to get free of him.

The relic quests themselves seem self explanatory and are fun to complete. The shock of finding a boss in a box the first time is fantastic.

Shrines are a nice addition. Finding a combat buff shrine next to bosses is extremely handy.

Thanks for all the hard work!

Someone made this suggestion in game but thought I would put it here. With all the quests at the banker now would it be possible to put the access bank line at the top instead of at the bottom of the list?

Yes, I spoke to Stephen about that in game last night and he thought it was a great idea. scrolling through the quests every time to access the bank will not be fun. I can see this happening to any of the merchants if they get too many quests added. Maybe all of the vendors/merchants should have thier main option on the top like bank access.

I like the relics and that they use the color shifting font (although more subtle then mythics as its all orange/yellow). I agree that the access bank (and merchant option for merchants) should always be listed first with quests listed after.

I like how the shrines look and how they act when you activate them (found an endurance one and love how the heart in the middle gets crushed).

One other suggestion on the relic quests, since you can get relics even without the quests is maybe do them like turning in the king's coins where you can accept/complete the quest in one dialog rather than accept and re-hail.

A future idea (since it'd involve new code to the NPC dialog windows): branching quest headers, ie:

Access Bank
Algernon [+]
Algor's Terror Dome [+]
etc.

Clicking on the [+] button would expand that heading to show the different quests tied to that dungeon, this heading style could also be applied to the quest log to allow grouping quests by which dungeon they are in (maybe a Townston one as well for the run around town quests or when you have the items for a quest and need to turn it in to someone in town).

Asiri - Do you play World of Warcraft or something? Just kidding, but yea that is a good idea...that way it wouldn't be soo cluttered in my quest log. I got every quest up to level 50 but have done NONE

Lol I used to, but WoW isn't the only MMO that does that, nor were they the first

Offhand I can say EQ2 does it (and does it better than WoW even before WoW enhanced their journal).

Mostly though I'm just really fussy about UIs in all programs, not just games. I like UI customization (within reason/not exploitable) and UI flexibility to support variations in user style/preference.
