I BET NO ONE CAN FIGURE THIS OUT!!!

OK, when i click play game it updates then it askes me if i Accept, i do then it goes to a white screen saying Error compiling shader game/effects/2.0/silhouttebit.fx. Try setting user.cfg [display] section to pipeline =VFPF [censored] is that plz help i wanna play |

It means to open the user.cfg file using notepad. Then add the line "pipeline=VFPF" at the bottom of the first section which is called "Display". Really nothing to this. As far as no one being able to figure this one out... I figure that at least half the player base has needed to make this change to the user.cfg file due to the video card they are using. |

Ooooh! Oooooh! Me! Me! I can answer this one since a couple thousand others have asked before.... . Go to the DR install folder and find user.config. open it with notepad and add the line pipeline=VFPF in the section under [Display] Save and restart DR and see if that helps. On edit: dang Tetness beat me to it, if only I wasn't on vacation where there are only Mac laptops to use. Possible... but yet... what are you using? I know some who have had this game work on an Nvidia GForce2. |

I just got that error code and changed the config file and it save back to the .cfg format, but the display file will not change to the .cfg format and I get the error when I change it. So I will look for ways around this error. |

You're just not doing it right or don't have the correct permissions to modify the file. Here's the official link: Linky... Make sure there are spaces on each side of the = symbol. |

But i'll need the Mfg and model to tell you for sure, and if you even can upgrade it. If i'm wrong and the card is fine, it could just be your RAM in general. I had the same problem for a while, I just procrastinated on actually taking out my ram chips to test them because i wasn't having major problems just stupid crap here and there. But I could install and play, i'd just crash and every so often i'd get that message, and scream because i knew it wasn't my video card(Radeon x1650pro). I used to work Sony, then Dell, the Gateway/eMachines tech support. I've got certs and I build computers. Its what I do best. |

I ran dxdiag and changed my display settings and that seemed to do the trick. Back to playing. |

im having the same problem, using the same exact video card. i have edited the user.cfg file, and done all the fixes listed in the forum, and used not only the search function on here but also searched via google site:boards.dungeonrunners.com. was this issue ever fixed, or anyone ever find a bandaid? -------------------- Equal Opportunity [censored] Kicker |

First, welcome to the boards!  If you use a 32mb Graphics Controller, I'd say: Go out and buy a graphics-card instead. I have an ATI radeon 9000 series, and I was getting this same thing then i realized that the video drivers weren't even installed at all. ('m on one of my old computers at my moms house) and that did the trick. so update your video, maybe even sound card drivers. It worked for me, but I still can't play due to the crappy internet connection out here. EDIT: oh wait I misread the post, yeah man like LM said, go out and get a video card. you could probably find an older one pretty cheap that will still get the job done. Fyi, I've had this game running for friends on integrated graphics as well as a P4 + GeForce with 32mb of ram.
