Hello everyone,

I am already Soloing as AoE mage Since.. well forever
And well; why not share it with others??
This will make you lvl at least once an hour (i lvl like once every 30-45 mins)
You can do this at any lvl (recommerd lvl 15-100)

(lvl 15-20 at algeron/algor terror)
(lvl 21-30 at frumps)
(lvl 31-40 at mutanous)
(lvl 41+ at demonic Crypts)



Ok lets start; First: the skills

1. Shadow Lightning
2. Ring of Fire
3. Gaseous Blast (this will be the skill you use the most)
4. Average BMI
5. Gym Freak
6. Mental Prowess
7. Toxic Talent ---------(tip from Legendrunner)
8. Spirit of the Hare ---(tip from Legendrunner)
9. Improvement of Shadow Lightning
10. Shadow bolt

Ok now the statistics;
Get around 4k hp; by using endurance and your armor
Put all the rest of your remaining points (will be alot) in Intellect.

Now lets see; the armor:

Try to look for armor with high intellect with maybe a little be endurance. And specialy look at the Shadow DPS: try to get your shadow bonus as high as possible

The staff (i prefer staff but 2 wands or wand + shield idc; its all up to you)

The best staff you will get is the Sissirat's Brother's Cousin's Roommate's staff of Somethings Really Awesome;

But if you dont have this staff;
try to get a staff with a high intellect bonus and with Melee/range damage reflection OR with +x% shadow damage and with alot of shadow DPS

Ok now there is still tactic needed; else you will die in like 10 secs with almost no defence and low HP.
And Dont be mad if you die the first times; every1 has that, you got to learn it.

First get to a place where are lots of creatures in a little place (such as Demonic Crypts) Now: get all the mobs you can following you.(faster by using Spirit of the Hare) Then run to the middle of the map.(use toxic talent) OK now it's not that hard, use like 1 HP pot or 2 And run around in circles; While you do this you see a big dot following you , Now you can cast The Gaseous Blast and then you run around again, now cast the ring of fire. Run again and cast gaseous blast again. Keep doing this and the most will be dead in no-time. If there are like 1-6 left cast shadow lightning and shadow bolt a few times;
And Well Done!! You killed them!
This will let you make like 500-2k xp in like 1-3 minutes (depends on what lvl you are)

Well now you see; it aint that hard, is it?

The main spirit of the AoE mage exists in this thread, for sure, i can feel it. Still i want to say a few things.
The skills

I would replace bookworm by toxic talent, expecially at high levels, where gaseous takes 6 secs+. Need to say that I use it once in 2 runs, else the recharge time kills me.
Bookworm isnt needed that much anyway, when in Crypts you wont run out of mana in any way except spamming shadow lightning.

And where is Spirit of Hare? It is a lovely skill that lets you argo groups much much faster, and Couch Potato isnt needed anyway, so I prefer replacing it by Spirit of Hare.

Last thing to nice is 500-2k xp in 1-3 minutes is true, except for the limit. 2k xp in 3 minutes is for the beginning Crypt runner not possible, mind that this includes loot picking, and waiting for skills to recharge IF needed. I make 1k xp in 80-120 seconds, even hard for me to make that 2k in 3 mins.

But except my personal preferes, It looks good in overall, well done

May also want to try Embercore Ruins off of level 7. Alot of straight hallways and no mobs that stun.

When i started; i started there, but when i tried Demonic crypts 1 a 2 lvls later, i was getting lots more xp in less time. So i decided not to Put it in this thread

Good to know. I was rerunning some of the boards and thought it looked good but at 100 there is no way to really test out how much exp you get.

Just a thought... if you use Gaseous Blast for the actualy killing, and just Shadow Lightning to finish off 1-6 guys... eum, why not take +poison bonuses instead of +shadow on your equipment (best in this case would be the rb Bilespitter)?

wat jinx said realy about the bile spitter poison % rings and if u can find it get poison dps stuff with int/endurance. but in technicallitys the fastest way is to become a poison ranger get all your gear with poison dps and agil/end/int with a bilespitter or simler agil/end/int weapon with poison %. nox shot on left hare on right avg bmi gym freak mental pro for passive fire gas toxic tallent acidic blight if it fits in for weaking defence to enable nox shot to always hit adding a decent dmg amount to unlimited mobs this way when in a circle. oh and odviously keep your agil to a standard that more often than not your nox shot hits which wont be much agil probably just what u will gain from armours/weapons

nice vid few bits of advice. use avg bmi instead of bookworm this way u can retain the same hp by lowering it after adding bmi and putting the extra points into int giving making ur dmg higher but not ur mana as u dont need it hence no need for book. and offcourse gym freak if that aint there. i cant realy see what u have in ur hotkeys as the video is so blurred but looks a weird setup to me. and also no need for the run in circles thing run forward up the corridor to where u come from then back to where the other mobs are and repeat then u will end up with them somewhere in the middle then gas and fire. no need for lighting realy. maybe shadow bolt on left for them last pesty things about it realy.

I have bookworm for fun now :P i just like to have 30k+ mana

I have 7k hp and i got my poisen hitting 12k+ damage max

My stuff are total of +21% poisen damage

bookworm only adds mana by replacing it with avg bmi u gain hp per endurance point meaning u can then lower your hp to 7k or wateva it was with bookworm and have more points left over to add to int meaning more dmg

I got 7k hp without any point in endurance. So i wont be able to put any points more in intellect if they I am already full intellect

Condor; The mobs look like they are week because this build kills them very fast; the mobs are the same lvl as i am, how high i might be....

When the update comes out; i will make a new charracter and i will make vids of the other places

I can gather the whole room with yellow mobs (this included archers, mage, melee and pest alike, no problem)

You are already at the high end of the level range for Algeron, 3-20 (xp up to 25). And yellow is your mobs your level not above you. So this is very unimpressive. Also with the next build it will be alot worse b/c of the change in monster AI and the limits on Gaseous Blast. You seem to place alot of merit on a video that is no different than what every other player is doing.

nop, only a minor nerfed like how many mobs it effected instead everything it touch like now.

This technique is great i timed myself today to see how long it would take to gain 1 level and in 57 minutes i gained 12.5k xp.

I can gain 1200 exp in 3 min with the round trip of reseting and pulling and killing the mobs.

So if I continue for an hour.... Thats a crap load of EXP right there. :O

Better take advantage while you can; gaseous blast is nerfed in the next patch.

Sissi staff is a Rainbow; It's a random drop and can be any lvl! But be fast!! When the update comes out all this is impossible.. The gaseous blast will be reduced by 20 enemies.

Btw, do u think the best place to farm xp is still Demonic Crypts ???

And what's yr opinion about BLue Screen of Life and all INT vs. all END mages build after Chunck 1 ??

P.S.: if some1 wants to discuss about it, i ahve 4 passive (Gym, BMI, Prowess, bookw.), then gas, ring, & shads. Spirit is unuseful now...

I still think Demonic Crypts is the best place to farm xp. As for Blue Screen of Life. I don't use it. I find myself needing my mana more than my hp with the nerf to gaseous. I can easily use up all 23k of my mana before 8k of my hp. Shadow Lightning is my main aoe spell now and it can take a huge chunk out of your mp if you cast it on a big enough group.

I still think demonic crypts kicks [censored].

Unfortunately I can get only 300-500 exp per 4-5 min there now.

I'm still managing to get upwards of 15k a hour in demonic crypt. On average its a little over 12k because I waste too much time chatting.

I am Glad you guys still use it; (i also still use it ) because it still works, but not as good. (and its still the fastest way to lvl) Got a lvl 32 mage now, getting to 40 for the Crypts

You can enter the crypts at 35. And still do very well.

Hello. I was currently a lvl 28 mage and I was leveling to Vexation Station, The Tomb of Singe. I’m planning to level there till lvl 35 (if I remember ok the max level you receive exp=max dungeon lvl+5)

Here is what I use
Left click: ice bolt, right clik: Ice Shards
Skills:
1 – Ring of fire
2 – Gaseous Blast
3 – Phyromania
4 – Toxic Talent
5 – Banner of Foolish Bravery
6 – Gym Freak
7 – Bookworm
8 – Mental Prowess

Observations:
- Till a few minutes ago I was using Chilling touch in the 5’th position, but now I bought Banner of Foolish Bravery cause I’m simply annoyed about that fear spell that the Banshees have. And I’m sure that after the 0.95 upgrade this skill will come in handy
- my style of playing isn’t proper for the shadow spell, so I decide to let them away for now. Shadow bolt is going in directions that I don’t want and the Shadow Lighting has a 1.5 cool down time, so I prefer the Ice shards that are going directly where I want them to go and are instant
- Strategy: go directly in the middle of the mobs, cast very fast fire ring and gaseous blast. Most of them are dead after this. The one that remain (the little monsters or if they are grouped) I kill with the ice shards, the rest (big monsters or individual) I kill with ice bolt. Pretty simple and effective.
- I do about 1.5k exp in 5-7 min cause I stay to gather the yellows, purple and some money, healing potions, etc. I’m not a exp freak. I want to enjoy playing. I’m doing this to get to my friends level (36) that I’m playing with so we could fight together.
- I have 5,2k HP and 8,3k MP and all it’s ok. I’m not dying. Maybe using 1-2 pot per run if there are many mobs that gather around. I’m still low on fire res…maybe after I’ll boost it a little I won’t use any pots
- I prefer staff+shield for now, cause I re-spec from ranger and I don’t have a 2-hand good staff for now…but even I would have one I would probably go for a staff+shield build cause the shield gives me some extra resistances and the block thing, block even spells (this is a good thing that other games don’t have)
- after I read this here I’ll change the Bookworm to Average BMI and see what happens. If the mana is ok then I’m staying with this

Of course this is my strategy for now. For bigger levels I’ll see what’s working.

I've been doing Demonic Crypts off and on for about 10 levels now, whenever I can handle it (can normaly get a level in about an hour) I still do some looting and generally try to pull all the mobs into to main groups to fight, using Gaseous Blast, Ring of Fire, and Shadow Lightning.

The runs, although very easy, and by far the quickest XP around, get real boring pretty quick, but until you can enter Rasputin's, your options are limited after you have run through everything once. You could do it all again, but I would prefer to plow ahead quickly and get to Rasputin's Holding Cell instead.

Who would have thought over that your topic would know have over 3000 views!!! I can still remeber the day you wrote it and how we used to play so much and stuff...good ole days.
