Put a stop to the skill-spamming in town.
#31430 - 08/04/07 03:15 PM

I'm getting annoyed with the nutbars in Dew Valley and Townston who insist on spamming their skills all over the place. I'm busy trying to clear out my inv or take a quest... yet I can't think because of the constant WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH! of a fireball-spamming fighter!
Wouldn't it make sense to disable skills in these areas? It's not like you've got anything to fight there, is it?

Hmm...I've gotten an idea. Try to avoid the scene and turn off the volume.

Some people are trying to show-off their skills because it's fun for them. I don't know why it's fun, but it makes the newbies amazed with cool skills.

Simple as that

Well, the fact that you're annoyed is not enough to make this suggestion relevant to the list but... it is true the fact that no one fights on the town so maybe skill avaiable should not be valid.
I honestly don't mind if ppl start spamming skills.

try adding in that the constant skill usage adds to the lg problem

if there's tons of people in townston (like always) and some of the nooblets are using their AoE skills and such hey cause an even worse lag problem, causing difficulty for those with low end graphics cards or slow internet

Geez, talk about entitlement. Is it really that hard to mute or lower the volume?

Allow me to rephrase: NOBODY should have to...
Why should I have to do without the music or funny NPC comments just because some 10-year-old wants to fling fireballs at everyone?
Why should I have to faff about messing with the ingame volume every time I jump to Townston (Which, given the amount of stuff you build up, is about every 15-20 minutes)?
Why should enybody?

Why shouldnt everybody be allowed to show off attack speed or similar just because you are easily annoyed? And if your hand-eye coordination is so poor that you cant organize your inventory when ppl shoot in the background, then maybe you should rethink all this gaming idea and go out train irl or something.

Skill spamming was very fun when i was newb, so I guess it's fun for new guys as well.
