Which one is wrong?
#31410 - 08/04/07 10:59 AM

Ok, LegendRunner pointed out a thing in the game that I'm amazed that I had missed.

Example:
According to char sheet, my max damage is 350.
I add a helm with 25 melee dps. Now my sheet says
375 damage. Ok, seems normal and all, but hey!

The helm adds 25 damage per second! So why oh why
is my max damage going up with 25 damage (for the record,
my speed was not 1.00, in which case it would have made
sence (speed of 0.28))?? The max damage is per hit, and not
per second...

So, either it's a typo that says +## damage per second, OR,
the character sheet lies to us. Which one is it? Both?
You answer me

From the testing I have done it is the description of damage per second on equipment it should be damage per attack.

The character sheet seems to be pretty accurate about everything, the only problem with it for me is that it doesnt show decimals which is annoying.

So, out of this we can say that Damage per Second needs to be Damage per Attack?
also for extra understanding: I took the example of a Shadow mage, there are no skills that make damage per second either (When weapon says +x dps to shadow damage).

Yes, the "damage per second" is a misnomer and does not accurately describe in game combat mechanics.

And you have tried this and is sure about it? Or just makes most sence? (which it do, i believe it's a typo as well, but still :P )
