Health Regen

Im guessing there is a base X% by which we regen, so an item that adds to that, would add that items Y% of regen of the base X regen number, to your total regen rate? Z

not sure on this one but if it follows true to all the other % increases then no.

A+B=C is not the formula to use it more like

A+(A*B)=C

or

Base + (Base*% increase)= Total

or something like that...

Look for Flyds posts... he may have covered this and I missed it.

The only one I have covered for this is critical chance. I have a +regen percent item but I am not sure how it works may add it to my growing list of things to do.

I'm pretty sure it's the same as the crit formula:

BaseRegen * (1 + %Bonus)

I have no idea what the "base" regen is, though. I think it's based on how much int / end you have. Parsing that is not something in which I'm particularly interested.

In either case, regen is questionably useful. You don't regen in combat unless you either don't get hit or don't use mana for a few seconds (5 or so?). Outside combat, you can take as much time as you like, and +17% (roughly what I usually see on items at my level) doesn't seem like it would make a significant difference. It's a rather incidental stat, imo. I wouldn't try to build around it.

I've never found either health or mana regen to be useful. Actually, I've never found health steal to be useful, either.

So far Im not noticing anything special about my health regen. In fact the only thing that seems useful in that line is Mana Steal.

Health Regen isn't to useful. Mainly because it only takes affect in between battles. I have found health steal to be very useful for warriors with 2H weapons. A nice deathbringer with health steal and some gear with it on will save alot of pots. With a good set right now I can easily have 10% health steal. When dealing an average of 3000 damage a hit, I recoup 300 HP a hit. Although it may not sound like alot when in a large mob my character can actually increase his HP without using any pots.
