They difference between weapons is...?
#29330 - 07/16/07 06:16 PM

I have a question, hopefully good. I see a lot of Gladius, Disjointing Pick (or something like that), Scimitars, Axes and I wonder, what's the great difference between all of them? I'm not only talking about the speed (cuz that's obvious) but I'm talking about the damage rating and the "crushing", "Piercing" and "slashing" damage that some of them give.

Mostly the question is, are there some monster that take more damage with crushing than slashing or something like that?

Thanks in advanced

I don't think there is a difference in damage resistance by melee type. Where it becomes important is with modifiers on gear. The best is +melee% damage but is pretty rare. If you have +slashing damage it will only stack if you are using a weapon with slash damage.

Thanks a lot for that info. So in the end, if I have rings, neckless and stuff that has slashing damage rating, then I should prolly look for some slashing damage weapon to get those attributes. And the same goes to the rest of the attributes acording to the weapons I guess.

Is there any fav. one handed weapon you have for fighters? (and non-members too ) Hehehe

Whatever looks coolest. Generally, though, it comes down to whatever is available and worth using (i.e. nice stats).

I prefer picks and daggers but will use axes, it's not so great for cleave etc but it's quick damage output, and weapon based cooldowns means you can use butcher before your foe even manages the walk back to you.

Lol my favorite dual weps. are Ancient swords, because they have a sweet unique shape and the dmg + bonus pwnz (imo.)

I carry a very nice hammer that adds to my Str/End/Def - I like smashing the little monsters with a big hammer, it is somehow satisfying

Fav 1-handers? Skulliosis ftw!! (rainbow pick with a skull mounted on top of it) Piercing damage and good stats.

I really hope your kidding because I've had 2-3 rings with decent fighter stats and +%crushing and I got rid of them when I changed weapons.

Also, I use w/e I find with the best stats. I did have two cool looking fast 1h hammers for a bit that looked real cool. Traded them in for some freakin' fast picks.

A good crushing weapon is hard to find, not jewelery. (i.e a L100 Warhammer with +% dmg, correct +dmg and with either good resistance or +hp/mana).
