So on the advice of some higher level people, I visisted the Demonic Crypt. After 30 mins or so of dps'ing single mob after single mob I decided to change my strategy. This is 10 levels ago, since then I've acquired more +poison gear. Almost all my stat points are in INT, all my gear is +poison, with a mix of agi, end, int. Gaseous Blast, Noxious Shot, Toxic Talent are all I ever use.

It may not be the fastest possible way to level, but it's fun ... for me at least :cool:

Typically, if I lose groups, I'll hit some and see "IMMUNE". Regardless at 68 I can get about 700 xp in a minute... minus any drops I pickup and buying/selling. It's just funny to hear them all die at the same time :D

The immune are the ones that you pull too far. You can usually only go about 2/3 of the width of a map without losing groups. Once you go too far they turn ghosty and reset back to their spawn points. More often than not you can pull 6-8 groups without having to worry about losing any.

damn, i didn't know poison damage was based on int...i have like, 2 int after bonuses!

That was actually pretty fast, but it was hard for me to see how big that group wound up being. I use a shadow mage because it was easier to start up and it takes me longer to take out a 6-8 group mob with gaseous blast, ring of fire, and shadow lighting.

Mind sharing your + to poison, level, and base stats?

Noxious Shot refresh is based on weapon speed (but is not affected when you use Trigger Finger Frenzy). I've found that faster weapons are easier to grind with.

The beauty of AoE poison is that it's not capped to any # of creatures - you can kill 5 at a time or 500 - all the creatures within range will be taking damage.

Stats from the picture above, this group alone took me from 4887 to 3957 - total of 930xp. Sorry for the crummy quality, still trying to figure out the whole widescreen issue.

Drinor, I love this strategy. I tried it today using just some scrap gear I found in a few runs as a mage and a plate piercer I already had. My poison bonus isn't even that high and yet I decimated the group much faster than as a mage. Thank you very much for sharing it with us and posting your video/stats.

The only downside is that it takes a bit more to kill bosses because I am not as strong, but even so this build is way better IMO.

Wow. cool video. Interesting strategy. Hmm, I have all my points into Agility ATM so not sure if I want to spend the money to respec and get the Int. stuff.

holy fricken crap that was sweet, here i was thinking shadow lightning was the shizzy, oh how i was wrong. plus the ranger prob doesn't die near as much as mage with squishy gear.

Hmm, I dont see how this is faster than pure mage. But your build is MUCH more fun to play at other places with though. And as stated above, i think you lost some groups, and if you added spirit of the hare, you'd collect them all.

Great video though, what program do one use to capture this? Im totally newb at videocaption. Preferably a program that's easy on system specs

Just saw your second video. Now we're talking! This is the first true hybrid Ive ever seen that is on par with a pure mage in killing speed. Nice! Didnt know nox shot reload was based on weapon speed, thanks for the info.

Level 91 Grinding.

Was great fun. 4 days, 9 hours.

The potential for a ranged character to do AoE damage is only limited to how many creatures you can get together... If you keep moving around, you don't get hit much. Having Divine and Shadow resist in Demonic Crypt helps a bunch as well.

And yes, I use FRAPS to record.
