New player looking for help with stats
#27924 - 07/07/07 08:12 PM

I just started this game, and earned my first level up. Can anyone give me some advice on how to spend my stat points?

Hover your mouse button over each stat and you get a description of what it does. All you need to know, asuming you can understand english.

OR, look at other threds regarding exact same issue with exact same question asked... We don't even have alot of posts yet...

Well, here's hoping the trend of replies that don't help but are 100% sarcasm doesn't continue. It used to be a small but helpful forum, let's try to keep that alive.

It depends on what class, or archtype of character you are going for, where to slot your stat points. To be honest, regardless of class type I put em into endurance, and let my gear focus on the stats I want to build up for class. If you want to forget survivability and go all out offensive build, then it's pretty much int for magic user, agi for any ranged physical damager, and a split of str and agi for a melee fighter type. Hope that helps.

You get your answer based on your question. Ask a non informative question, and get a reply without information. Simple.

He might wanna include what class he'll play, his prefered playing style etc etc... Not just 'what is good'?

Rakehell explain the best : ) simple and to the point if the OP took his time to read Rakehell advices.

DR is simple. Pure build ftw, and let those armor set you found with stats that benefits you the most do the work. There's no string attach just to make things complicated.

people that try to make things complicates are people desperately wanted attention (fisherman). or people that made their sig turning into a rainbow like carebears are the number 1 sign for attention. geez lol

After some of the replies in this thread I thought I may add a bit more info.

How you assign your stats in this game is very much up to you as there are no classes. How the stats effect things can be found here in a guide that is currently under development (shameless plugging but what the hey). Thankfully in this game the way you place your stats is not so critical as you can respec for a certain amount of money, which is dependent on level, whenever you want.

Stats are a personal choice there is no best you can go all for one attribute or mix them up. Most people slot some endurance as it boost you HP so it is quite useful.

You will find equipment with stats on it as well so you base stats are not what is important but your overall stats are.

From here on I am assuming you are a mage as this is the mage section. For a mage there are two important stats endurance and intelligence. Endurance helps you survive, intelligence increases your mana and your spell damage. My current stats assignment is about 3 intelligence to every 2 endurance overall but most of my gear is +int so my endurance is actually the one I apply more stats points to.

Overall there is no best there is only what works for you. Play about with things don't worry if you mess up where you put stat points as you can change it. Work out what is the most fun and go with that after all thats what the game is about.
