Server Downtime and Patch Notes 5/17
#2719 - 05/16/06 02:25 PM

The Dungeon Runners beta server will be taken down Wed 5/17 at 10am Central to publish the following:

  • Group chat color text has been changed to a shade of gold to improve readability.
  • Quest text readability has been improved.
  • Grass density has been temporarily reduced to help with frame rate issues on some machines.
  • A new verification dialog is displayed when you try to delete a character.
  • Bugs with the particle system have been fixed. You should no longer see large flashes on certain particle effects.
  • A first pass on the improved control scheme has been made:
    - You can no longer click on a zone portal to enter it. Simply walk your character toward the zone portal and, when you get close enough, you will automatically change zones.
    - Sticky move mode has been implemented. When using the left mouse button to move, your character will no longer interact with objects that get under your mouse cursor.
    - Sticky attack mode has been implemented. When clicking and holding the mouse button on an enemy, your character will single mindedly attack that enemy until it is dead or until you release the mouse button.
    - Auto-fire has been implemented for the right mouse button. Just hold the button down to repeat your assigned action.
    - Holding SHIFT down when initiating an attack will anchor your character in place. Sticky-attacking while holding SHIFT down will not make your character move.
    - The directional cursors that showed when moving in previous versions have been removed.
  • The sound system is still under construction. You may notice missing sound effects or incorrect playback in some situations.
  • E3 respawn has been disabled.
