Various ideas.
#26762 - 07/02/07 04:25 PM

Hey there, im new of 1 week, im level 39 on my character, been playing a mage until level 36 and started playing ranger since then, kinda new at it, but i would like to suggest a few things if they aren't in the game yet.

Grenade launchers, slow fire rate, area damage, crushing damage (that would require a overhaul of the equipment table so rangers can get stuff for crushing damage, otherwise id go with piercing or slashing).

Missile launchers, very slow fire rate, area damage, slashing damage, 2 types of launchers, dummy missiles and target seekers, target seekers would be members only.

Hand grenades, normal fire rate, area damage, piercing damage (Or crushing or slashing, whatever suit you).

Micro missile pistol, one hand gun, normal attack rate, work like the missile launcher, but single target damage only instead of area damage, this would allow some dual gunning, although the idea of someone holding a sword with a gun or a wand is somewhat weird...

Helmets with some nifty red vision glasses and transmitter that allow the property target seeking, which render the shooting smart, like shadow bolt, for any ranged weapons, members only.

The skills to launch various elements on their ammos, like explosive ammos that would do fire damage, electric charged ammos, freeze charged ammos, etc. you understand the idea.

Maybe some passive skill that would allow faster speed movement at the cost of defense rating? And vice versa but for warriors.

A self buff that allow a temporary invulnerability of about 10 seconds with a cooldown of 120 seconds. A buff other version would also be available with a higher cooldown (like 300 seconds) time and would affect all team mates around 5 meters away from you, increasing the skill rank would increase the invulnerability time.

I would like to see in game the ability for members to change their equipment appearances, fashion is fun! Or the ability to hide their helmets while having it on their heads, because a lot of helmets looks ugly and i actually want to see my hairs! So far the only one that allow this is the bandana, which doesnt come in loots very often when it comes to yellows, purples and rainbows.

A separate slots tab for passive skills, so we can use all our numbers, for members only, non members would have to use the numbers tab for passive skills.

An increased inventory space for members, god i hate to have to to go town every 2 or 3 battles to sell for some good cash.

Maybe passive skill that allow your weapon to change all your damage types into a focused type? Like if your shotgun is slashing, and you put as a passive skill Piercing Specialist, then every damage you will do will be pierce focused instead of slashing, and all bonuses that apply to the weapon will turn into piercing damages (shadow, fire, crushing, etc) It would be a good idea since this skill does take up a skill slot to be in effect.

Maybe lessen the counterpart on skills when a member, like instead of losing 55 on every resistance when you take a ward you lose 27 instead.

Once multiple characters will be creatable on a same account, a vault where you can safely transfer items from one character to another, or mail system. A trade system between players would be nice, too, especially if you want to give gold.

A sortening system for players list, one that sort names and one that sort by levels, easier to find group members within level range.

That's all i can think of right now.

I think the gernade launcher would be workable, and the gernade as a skill would be fine. However I disagree with the a lot of your ideas, some of them seem to go against the grain of the game, I mean heat seaking laser goggles? If you want to play an auto-attack game like world of warcraft I suggest you do that instead of trying to change the gameplay on this one. It seems a lot of people just come to this game from world of warcraft and suggest all these botting type features, remember one of the main reasons people like this game is due to its interactivity.

And you really seem to hate non-members, remember that the bigger the list for non-members the less likely people are to try the game.

There is nothing wrong in improving the game to have more functionability, i've played many many games and WoW is just one among many.

The target seeking is a mock version of the shadow bolt, you can already auto attack enemy if you hold your mouse button on them, there is nothing wrong with having a variant in weapons.

As for hating, i have no hate for non members, i have friends who are not members, i am simply stating what the developpers would probably do with these ideas, members pay for keeping them to improve, they benefit the members first, the non members play the game like an unlimited time trial but with limits, it is unlikely they will allow to try the super wicked missile launcher that got homing missiles to people who doesn't pay for what they make.

Why dont people want aim bots in counter-strike? In my opinion sometimes there is something wrong with giving more functionability to a game. Theres no point in blurring the line between this combat system and world of warcrafts.

I'm unsure how my ideas are even remotely similar to WoW, your hate for WoW is somewhat disturbing however.

WoW combat system is click a target and cast free will until it dies, my ideas doesn't suggest that kind of system at all.

Tappa, Tappa, Tappa...

The invulnerability buff sounds nice, but... way too overpowering.

Hmm, its the same concept I think, your just gonna be firing blindly at anything and its just gonna auto-target and hit whatever is in the general direction you happen to be firing at. At least you sort of have to predict enemy movement and stuff like that with the current system.

Hence my suggestion for dummy head missiles and target seeking missiles, however that's your own opinion and you have your right to dislike it, however i am sure a lot of players would like it.

These remains suggestions, the developpers can modify them the way they want it to be.
