Trade Scams in Dungeon Runners

Hers's some great advice and information from one of our players, Ripper_Mcgee!!

Over the last few weeks, I've seen a couple of characters spamming /w chat for rainbow trades. I've also seen character--both in game and on the boards--complaining about having been scammed out of their rainbow items. Here are a couple of tips:

Drop Trading - As of today, the only way to trade an item is to drop it so another player may pick it up
  • Tip 1 - Beware requests by other players to view your non-soulbound gear. If you want to keept it, but show it off, wait until it's soulbound.
  • Tip 2 - If you haven't yet picked up the item, tell the other players to use Z to view it
  • Tip 3 - If you drop the item because you want to let another player see if he or she can use it, then know that this is inherently risky
  • Tip 4 - Scammers exist in all games - if you are going to drop trade (which is inherently risky), then only trade with people you know and trust. Hint - these aren't the players you just grouped with for the first time while farming. That's not to say those players might not be trustworthy, but you don't really "know" them, do you?

What to do if you think you were the victim of a scam?
  • Tip 1 - It might be an honest mistake! Try to send the alleged scammer a polite tell asking them what happened. Maybe the item wasn't picked up, but is now lost due to an instance reset, for example?
  • Tip 2 - Do not spam /w chat or the message boards with complaints about the alleged scammer. It's character assassination until proven to be true and is a violation of the EULA and Terms of Service. Do you really want to get suspended for what somebody else did to you? Why add insult to injury?
  • Tip 3 - Open a support ticket. To do so, go to the official support site and "ask a question". If you've never used support before, you'll need to create a support account first:
  • List the date, time, time zone, world in which you were playing and a brief description of the alleged scam.
  • Product = Dungeon Runners
  • Category = Rules and Policies
  • Department = Violation Report
  • Upload a screen print if you can.
