Group levels.
#25500 - 06/23/07 12:00 PM

Not many people are above 40, let alone 50, 60 and up levels at the moment. It makes it hard for people from the beta era who are up on the higher end of the level scale to find a group to party with that allows them to gain exp points. I'll do HDoL on my own quite often but sometimes it's fun to kill things with other people but, in order to do that at the moment you have to party with someone up to 20 levels below you and that erradicates exp altogether and minimalises drops.

Example: I partied with a few other people, ranging from 41-65. The host of the party was at level 50, a person at lvl 59 and myself at level 65 collected no exp. When we changed the party around to me being the party host the dungeon was too hard for the others.

There doesn't seem to be a balance in the party structure. If you want to join a party for fun and giggles you either have to sacrifice exp or die, die, die or find people within five levels of you.

Apart from the obvious suggestion of "find people in your own level range" which is generally impossible, maybe either an increase in the levels between party members to even maybe 10-15, so it's not impossible to party and gain xp or alternatively, an xp scale. So, if they host is at 40, and the dungeon is at 40, people who are at a higher level than that can gain some fraction of what the host is gaining in xp.

I think that makes sense.

Perfect sense - I think this is a great idea.

Although - I think the whole thing with not gaining xp for fighting dungeons at low levels is stupid. If I want to fight hard enemies I can go to a high lvl dungeon. Easy enemies - low lvl dungeon. Why shouldn't I get xp from both?

You don't get experience from low level dungeons because if you could I know i would pull an entire level in algeron and kill them all without using any pots and level up to 100. This would ruin any reason to level.

Not really - if playing higher dungeons nets you more xp than playing lower dungeons.

Versions of this idea have been suggested before. Months ago, I suggested a sidekick/exemplar system similar to the one in CoH.
