l-----Adelphi's Shadow Build-----l
#24826 - 06/18/07 07:45 PM

Bored at work figured I'd post my build since it's probably a little different than most(doubt anyone else's is the same).

[Left Click]
Shadow Lighting

[Right Click]
Shadow Bolt

Pretty Normal at this point, but here goes my skill bar.

-Mental Prowess
-Bookworm
-Couch Potato
-Gym Freak
-Imp Shadow Lighting
-Extra Crispy Monster Bait

---Monster Bait
---Ring of Fire

---------------------------------------------------

At lvl 40 I have 20,000+ Mana even with Gym Freak. I go after Int and +Shadow Dam period. My Shadow Lighting is hitting for 2,600+. With under 1500 health most think survivability is a problem and I can say that it was slightly. Until I got my Extra Crispy Monster Bait. This ability is so good. I can pull about 5 groups at the same time and have them all dead before the Bait even dies.

I could go on and on. I am going for Max Damage, nothing else matters to me, that was my goal from the start.

If anyone has any questions please ask away.

P.S. I am a Member

Thanks,

I was pretty surprised to read your build because i use all the same passive skills as you. The difference between what i do and what you do is that i use a more balanced stat distribution so i have about double the health as i have manna. This tends to cause me to eat massive manna pots. After reading your post, i think i might have to try out that monster bait and distribute a little of my fighter stats into intelligence on a respec. ))

Well at this point I'm lvl 73 and my setup is similar. You won't really change much over the levels. There are a few certain fights like Shadow's Pinnacle etc. that are shadow immune so you'll have to change up spell schools based on the fight.

For normal running I use the following:

L. Mouse: Shadow Lightning
R. Mouse: Shadow Bolt

Hotkeys from left to right

Gaseous Blast, RoF, Unnerving Shout(The damage that it mitigates is a staple for me), Monster Bait, Gym Freak, Imp. Shadow lightning, Bookworm, Mental Prowress.

I'm sitting at 13.5K HP and 23K mana with 391 shadow dmg. at the moment. I switched from mage to fighter from 67-72 ( Boy did it suck compared to mage on everything but bosses). Just now working on my mage gear again

No rainbows or purples at this time so when I get geared again I should be sitting at 500 shadow dmg with higher HP and mana pools. I tear through HDoL solo easily with a very minimal usage of potions. On the fighter I was chugging pots because of having to chase ranged mobs all over.

This is my build solely for HDoL. I find the normal dungeons too easy and boring for me. Maximum +dmg is my goal too with a little leeway thrown in for HP due to the HDoL bosses like Tugtor hitting really hard with melee attacks.

That said mages rule on everything but boss fights (fighters have it slightly easier there due to higher single target dmg output). I won't be going back to fighter except maybe at 100 when I'm bored and can farm for really good gear.
