Bugs that could be exploits.
#24799 - 06/18/07 04:57 PM

1st bug i just found and realized was if you are in a group and logoff and the group does'nt remove you from the party you will still receive EXP as if you were still playing.

2nd bug is a HdoL exploit in which if you die, instead of hitting respawn you can logoff and back on and not suffer the death penalty, works in a group or solo. In a group in HdoL you can die logoff and back on and be right back in the group at the spot you died at but with no death penalty. Sorry i did not find these on the PTS before .75 went live.

The first one wouldn't be considered a bug because if someone was afk they would still get exp as well so it's not a big difference.

Zubin, there's a difference between being AFK and logged off. I wonder if there's a time limit to the experience and loot that the disconnected player gains, however.

One bug I've seen:

A team member leaves the team, but the mobs don't scale back down and quest loot still drops for the team member who left (until the instance is reset).

Well for the server to check for re-scaling the mobs and the loot it would probably be some unnecessary lag.

Could Stephen or a dev post here to confirm that it is a problem and should be addressed.

1st XP when logged off: should not be happening and so far we have been unable to reproduce this on our end, but we are looking into it.

2nd: We are aware of this. It is in the bug list but not a high priority fix

A new (to me) one for you. WHen storing quest items in the bank it is possible to gain multiple sets of iems. While it doesn't matter much in one sence, it would then be possible to gain 10-20 KC and 10-20x the $$ per quest by then taking all items to the quest giver at one time and re-taking the quest w/out having to leave the spot. It's fairly minor, but it is an exploit.

Basically a duping exploit. Interesting...

Are you talking about stockpiling quest items in your bank? If so that is not a bug.

If you are saying you are somehow making the items appear in your bank and inventory at the same time, then that is of concern. If it is the latter please send me a PM with the specific steps you are taking to get this to happen.

For Everyone: If you think you have found a bug that may be an exploit please send the steps you have taken to reproduce this bug via PM to myself or another Red Name on the board. If it is an actual exploit we would rather have a chance of fixing it before it becomes public knowledge.

Thank you,
Kitsune
