I've gone mostly all Int to level 24 , a couple levels I put 2-3 points in End. The normal dungeon clears are easy enough, bosses can be tough, so I usually keep another set of fighter armor with high Endurance and Def.

10 end and all the rest int at level 19. Just make sure all your gear gives you big end and HP boosts. I'm doing fine so far, just gotta make sure you regenerate with each group and multipl heroes/champions can be pretty harsh, so just make sure you can run away enough to regenerate or kite. Though, if yer a member, pot binging would work, too... XD

At 30, I have 80 end and 85 INT base; my gear is so INT heavy that i'm considering just respeccing to 155 end/10 int, as I still only have 2000 hp, and 14k mana. So frankly, I'm getting to the point where my + to stats from armor (with +shadow dmg) is far greater contribution to my damage than any base stats could be.

Another thing that helps for hp, if you want to put some points in end AND int, is the passive buff for fighters (+100%hp per end, -25% mana per int). Yeah, you lose a little mana, but with enough int bonuses, and the HUGE increase in hp, now you don't need to fear those melee bosses as much, and you still shouldn't be running out of mana in fights. You can even think about the Ranger passive as well, i think its +10% hp or somethin.

At 21,I have like 45 base end and 65 base int i think (or close to), with 3800 hp and 5600 mp after bonuses. Most big fights I won't barely go through a quarter of my mana, usually regenerated by the time i get to the next group.

I'm all Int...

Since I clear the room in seconds I don't need to potion spam.

I'm all int as well at level 28 and 394 int...
Whenever I fight anything that requires a potion I'd just group with some well equipped and well farmed warriors

Insted of getting an armor with +50 int, get a piece of armor with +50 end. That way you get more total def while still maintaining the equal stat boosts. So get int from levels, endurance from equip. Downside? Warrior armor (which usually have end) doesnt come with handy +elemental damage.

I'm lvl 41 and all INT myself. I got no trouble soloing HDoL or any other place, but I do have some little problems with some bosses like the one in HDoL Stage 3 and that's only because he has to high resistances for magic, not because I'd have too little amount of HP. So yeah, all INT and you'll do fine.

well... keep in mind that the role of your stats on gear goes up as you level. So I always find these conversations a little mixed up in that its possible to spend all your points in int and still have a hefty amount of endurance from gear.

Personally I try to unify them. When someone says "all int" it should mean you have selected on int gear items and have no endurance what so ever since you have that option if you micromanage and min/max

Which is pretty bold. Also viability of AE spells decreases in the group game. They are still good but a good AE spell will often take out all your foes in a couple cast solo. In a group you can blow several thousand mana before you start seeing significant foe reduction.

Thats all? I have gone through 30K mana in 1 fight before solo. Of course this was with pulling 3-4 groups at a time and spamming shadow lightening on top of my AOE spells.

Which supports my point that AEing in a group isnt quite the one shot 10 kills that it almost is solo. You really got to do a sustained barrage and that lowers the viability of playing with 10 endurance total after levels + gear.

You run up to AE things solo and two cast laters your down to 4 mobs out of 12. And 2 cast after that your basically done.

You pull up a group of 5 at level 30+ and you can chain AE for a very large amount of time before you begin to see mobs die from the AE. During that time you may very well end up with agro and mobs that arnt dieing. though todays taunt might change things.

I skilled 15 end and rest on INT @ lvl 41. But im thinking about skilling more END. Since i hardly out of mana, and mostly need allot of health pots in bosses that i cant kite.

This is what I do, my gear is all + end, i have sets for different elemental types, and some of them still have +mage damage. I keep 4 passives on the bar (+dmg, +mana, +health, +health), and the chicken leg, poison cloud, AoE fire, chain lightning. Right click is a blast, left click the melee attack where you run to the enemy to attack. I have about 12k health, 10k mana.

With this setup, what I like to do is run about 5 groups together, then chicken leg, poison cloud, fireball, lightning in succession til all are gone.

I found as a mage build, I would actually put all my points into endurance, that way I get the survivability, but can use all mage oriented armor pieces, which of course have all your +dam bonuses and resists. Can usually find a set that is all int/bonuses, and with all your points into end, I found it balanced out well, I survived long, and with all my gear mage instead of fighter type, the bonuses brought my damage up to a nice enough range that I could dish out pain regularly as well

I totally agree with Rakehell. I might have said different earlier, but now Im older and wiser

The 'all int equipment' usually have better +elemental dmg stats. So you really wanna use them. So put End from level ups.

The other pro about this is, if you wanna change class, all you have to do is switch equipment, since ALL classes need Endurance anyway

why not kite from monster to avoid dmg? I say 10k-7k of hp is enough for a mage.

Kiting is the main method of a mage, and why I say you only really need the end you get from lvls, can put all gear toward int and dam.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this as there have been patches since the last post on this thread, but here goes.

I went full int mage around lvl 50 or 55 and have never since put any pts in anything but int. I am now lvl 70, and have plenty end from gear/passives. I have just under 15k hp, and just over 20k mp, and I can run the crypts without ever spamming pots. In fact, i have collected about 100-150 extra pots that are in my bank right now. I might use one or two pots per run in hdol, but that's not that bad considering i'm up against 2-3 heroes each group.

I won't take on abbadon, or some of the tougher bosses because my defense is weak and my str/agi is too low. I do seem to struggle a lot with shaman heroes though, as they heal as fast as I can damage them. I use melee dmg soul rend on them and they die in just a few extra hits.

In part of the post for the new build that listed the new skills, the Mage Shield was conspicuously absent. I know it was mentioned by the devs...but will it be in this build, or a later one? Hhhmmmmmm?

Actually, I can't read the patch notes. When I click on the link from the PlayNC Launcher (when I installed the PTS file, I forgot to uncheck the box to not link it to the launcher) it comes up with a message saying that "PlayNC Currently Unavailable - The PlayNC.com server is temporarily unavailable. Please check your network connections and try again later."

And, in the posting that Stephen had put up, in the new skills there was no mention of Mage Shield. So, I have not yet seen this skill.

By your reaction to my post, Anson, I am incorrect in that it is not in this build - which makes me more than happy!

But, alas, I can not find the full patch notes at this time to see the full goodness that everyone of your team has brought us. And that makes me sad.

And I finally got into the game.....and it was my misunderstanding!

Blue Screen of Life = Mage Shield. I had thought Mage Shield was another skill from the way everyone was using it.

Ah well. Mystery solved. Scooby & the gang can let My. Smithers go now that the real villain has been unmasked!
