Graphics and Interface
#21146 - 05/19/07 07:31 PM |
I'm confused. Both, Graphics and Interface do not look like a modern PC online game product. If one check even Guild Wars, he will see nice looking game. I do not undestand at all visual design of this game. Where are half tones, 3d objects, semi-transparence and so on? Is this game designed for some outdated game console, or portable mobile phone? Or I just missed some graphic settings like "tun on textures"? Could someone explain please? |

Im also confused. Why if you took the time to check the main site out did you ever bother to login or make account if you did not like what you see /? The graphis are fine and its cartoony like wow but everything matches and guess what wow sold millions of copy so there must be some secret sause recipie to it and if i tell you then you have to promise not to tell anyone else ok? These kinds of graphics run great on just about every pc that can go on the internet. *Big Hugs* Lestai |

Quote: Yes - I'll explain. You're a troll - go back under your bridge... Seriously - I like the graphics fine: 1) At minimum, it's a free-to-play game. At most, it costs $5/month. I've played other f2p games like 9dragons and wasn't impressed with the quality of graphics I saw for the $10 million they spent... Also, if you want to see really bad graphics, check out Runescape. 2) This game isn't about realism; not in the slightest... 3) You are--actually--partially correct. Some of the graphics are left over from when the game first entered development back in 2002. 4) This is MMO-lite. It's not a full-featured MMO like CoH , Vanguard, LotR, etc... This is a game with only nine dedicated people working on it. Edited by Ripper_McGee (05/20/07 10:41 AM) |

I agree that DR's graphic looks outdated. As this is free game, and has nice tone & manner in cartoony-way like WoW, as mentioned above, I can't deny that this doesn't look sophisticated. When I look at the edge, it's tough. It doesn't look like it's well finished & polished. The color makes my eyes very tired. I can't distinguish mobs and earth in forrest background especially. More looks of armor/weapon may need. Overall graphic direction and tones are good. But I think there needs more to get more players excited. Compared with dungeon siege, titan quest, silverfall, Mythos, all the other contemporary Action RPG, DR isn't competitive. Considering that this is for players of low system requirements, a little bit under the standard, I think. Good news is, Dev guys are working so hard and DR gets better, and I believe in them. ;D Edited by changwoo (05/21/07 03:42 AM) |

Quote: Some of those are boxed games, which makes the comparison unfair. Dungeon Siege's graphics weren't that great, it was a 2D game. Other than character screenshots, I haven't been too impressed with Mythos' graphhics either. |

Considering my first console ever was an atari 2600, well gameplay is the cat's meow. I mean damn I still play games like, Missle Command and Yars Revenge. Just think back to your last favorite game and in 5 years look back again...and you tell me why you liked it? cmon let's hear it for zelda, metroid, tetris... ah the good ol days |

Well, I'd love to play DR. What I'm trying to suggest is, how about DR having more nice graphic in addition to what it is now. I agree that graphic is not all about game, but with a good graphic, I must enjoy more. There may be players who like the graphic as it is, it's okay. For me, I want more. Just I don't meant that DR is sucks due to graphic. Easy, guys. |
