It would be a lot easier if there were an in-game /report feature that 'bookmarked' the log when you hit it with some sort of flag for a review of the nearby chat. Am I correct in assuming that something like that will be added eventually?

I'm afraid I can't give you a yes or no on that one. One isn't in the works at this time, however. I can say that Guild Wars follows the same practice we currently do, and it seems to have worked well for them. The goal is to get people to look at the answers before submitting a ticket. For most MMOs, most inquiries are based on general gameplay questions...ones that are extremely time consuming to answer on a case-by-case basis. I think you guys know what that role is like from world chat, hehe. Except GMs can't put anyone on ignore; they have to address and handle every petition that is received, and rightly so. Although our business model is not the same as Guild Wars, we both have something in common: we don't follow your normal MMO model.

Please remember that we're not trying to be rude about it nor are we trying to make it difficult to receive help. In fact, it is just the opposite. It is also not necessarily about support salary costs (which are expensive, even for those 15 a month games.) We have enough GM staffing, but keep in mind that there is no limit to the amount of accounts you can have for free. We simply can't let tickets which should have the highest priority become completely buried and lost for a long period of time. So this was put in place so our GMs can provide the most effective and efficient support possible. The goal is to keep service topnotch while keeping the GMs very busy

I understand. I think you may have misunderstood me, though - I mean the /report just for harassment. So it wouldn't be used for regular questions, just for cases of bannable behavior. I don't think figuring out what that is requires looking at an extra FAQ; the people who are way oversensitive will just ignore it, anyway.
