I decided to buy up some mage skills for fun, and.. whoah. Ice Bolt slows people down? That sounds useful. At lvl 1, Ice Bolt only costs 20 mana, so even a fighter's low int can handle it. All you need is the slowdown, so higher lvls aren't necessary. It's been a huge timesaver for me - when I'm chasing down a fleeing ranged mob, I just fire off an Ice Bolt, and I can catch up to them much more easily. Usually they're dead by the time it wears off. Personally, I keep it on right-click, but other people in /world seemed to have success with it on other hotkeys, so whatever works for you. It also makes things turn pretty colors. |

Ice Bolt is a must have for me as well, even though I play a Battle Mage I don't use many ranged spells. This one however saves me time so that I don't have to run across have a level to finally strike down a single foe with my weapons. It's a must have in my book. Butcher is another useful skill, namely for its chance to knockdown your enemies. -Gene |

The annoying thing about Butcher is that it fails a lot at higher lvls since the patch. Ice Bolt has been a lot more reliable for me. |

Quote:So very true. I've gotten my ice bolt up to level two and butcher at three and ice bolt is definitely far more useful. I generally only use butcher if I'm getting hammered on by a champion and need some space. But righteous stomp works for that sometimes. Cheers, -Gene |
